I have made the change to 'static' and all is working well now. Thanks

Will give it a go. I am finding radio streams such as RTE and WNYC on my
Sonos devices are problematic presumably because they are MP3. I note
that these streams will play from the dedicated Sonos app.

Well, you should definitely know Philippe and thanks for replying! Not
sure what the problem is then. I can't get most radio streams to run for
some reason.

Just wondering if it is possible to stream BBC streams, WYNC, RTE etc to
Sonos devices using AirPlay bridge? I have it working successfully with
Tidal, Spotify, Groove Salad etc. I have searched the forums but could
not find any references. I am running LMS 8.1.1 on MacOS 11.2.2,
Airbridge 4.53.1. The Sonos is a Play One which is AirPlay compatible.
It would be a nice thing to get working as it would be a relatively
inexpensive way of adding music to additional rooms.

Thanks. Well aware and appreciative of the great work that Philippe does
along with several notable others. They keep the platform alive and
relevant. Still the best thing out there in my view.

I have followed the instructions on the advanced plugin page. I can't
seem to get beyond the 'Configuration file missing - create one by
clicking "generate" or, if autosave is on, refresh this page' warning

I have enabled the Airbridge as instructed and hit the generate button
as well as refreshing the page with Autosave enabled. Trying to connect
to a couple of Airplay devices - a Sonos One and an Apple TV.

This has been resolved by removing the iPeng App and re-installing. The
App had been in place over a long period of time and was subjected to
IOS upgrades, phone upgrades and also any upgrades that the iPeng App
would have undergone. I always upgrade my phones from backups.

They show up under 'Radios' and are visible there. If you go into 'Edit'
they are not listed as hidden in My Apps. It is nice and functional to
have them appear along with the other Apps in My Apps.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer not appearing in MyApps in iPeng (IOS12)

2019-06-25 Thread JPatten

Is anybody else having this issue? BBC iPlayer and BBC iPlayer extra
have disappaered from My Apps in iPeng (vs 9.6.1) on my iPhone
(currently running IOS 12.3.1). They disappeared a couple of months ago.

The BBC iPlayer "Show in My Apps" option is toggled in the LMS server
Plugin and it works on the web interface when accessed by a browser.

Has anybody had this issue and know of a fix? My LMS is running on MacOS
Mojave 10.14.4, LMS version is 7.9.1.

Well done with Spotty. I have it running now on my iMac which is running
MacOS Sierra. Everything is as it should be except 'listen on another
device' when using Spotify on the iMac itself. Hardly a shattering
problem but thought you might like to know about it. It might be just a
Mac quirk.

Well done again. Losing the ability to run Spotify on my LMS would have
been a big loss for me and would have prompted me to look elsewhere.

Thanks

Ok there is a minute here. At 17.13 I started the stream. At 17.14 I
attempted to pause it. It goes into some sort of continuous loop at that
point. Something similar I think is caught at the start of the logs.
Shortly afterwards I switched to RTE player which was not logging.

Sorry 32kbs was a typo. I meant 320kbs.

Will do the downloads.

I haven't done used this procedure before. Can you give me any guidance
or point me towards instructions please? I am better than most but not
as technical than your good self. No changes to files have been made
that I am aware of. Possibly an OSX update might have changed something
somewhere.

1.) Yes can play TV programs

2.) Working perfectly

2.) Working perfectly

So maybe a Squeezebox issue. Please see my iPlayer settings page in case
something is amiss here.

Do you know how to see the destinations IPs or FQDN's for the hi bitrate
streams? I want to ask one of our network guys to do a trace route? It
might be some issue with our company set up. TV iPlayer works fine.

It turns out Triodes repository was the issue. I have now loaded the
1.52 version. All working well for non-UK streams. Still silence on UK
streams although showing 320kbs,CBR, acc. It appears to be streaming but
no sound. I wonder if it is some form of networking issue where I am
routing out through our UK IP (my company has a both a UK and Irish IP
presence). Possibly detecting upstream that I am in Ireland and muting?
It was all working very well a few weeks back.

I am in Ireland like you BPA but I can use a UK IP address (work related
access). It appears that I am not pulling down the latest version of
iPlayer so I am currently on version 1.49 and the current version is
1.52. When I 'un-enable' and then re-enable the BBC player version 1.49
is what comes back and there are no other versions visible. The
repository I have enabled is
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/repo-short.xml. I
have a Mac and the OS is OSX 10.11.6 Could I be using the wrong
repository? Scanning the forums I haven't come across a reference to a
newer repository if there is one.

On high UK bit stream 32kbs,CBR, aac is being indicated but no sound
coming through

On lower outside UK bit stream 96kbs, CBR, aac is being indicated and
sound is coming through.

Skip back options and BBC iPlayer Extra are working.

The non-Uk streams are perfectly fine but it would be good to use the
higher streams and if nothing else to understand why the issue may have
occurred. All was working well and then it stopped a few weeks back.

The issue seemed to be that I was not streaming from Dash in the iPlayer

Please see my current setup. Is this thought to be optimum? I seemed to

I am currently running the excellent plugins from Triode (BBC iPlayer

possible? I see references to Skip Back on the forum but nothing obvious
showing on LMS or when controlling LMS via iPeng. Currently running on
OSX El Capitan using a number of Touches and a Duet player. The plugins
are running very well for me in general along with LMS 7.7.5 - basically
couldn't be happier - long live LMS! Live skip back would be fantastic
if possible.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Playing WMA Lossless files on OSX Squeezebox 7.7.5

interested to know if WMA Lossless files can be played on an OSX

From the Macintosh HD navigate through the following folders

Users

Select the User profile where LMS is installed.

Library

Caches

Squeezebox

Installed Plugins

Plugins

BBC iPlayer

Here you will find menu.opml. Replace this with the relevant version -
ie UK or non-Uk

I also attach a screengrab which shows the folder tree.

Simple enough if you can see the Hard Drive. The latest version of OSX
makes it harder to find but searching in Google will give you the
answers you need to make it visible if you are unsure how to uncover
it.

I am up and running having switched from Windows 7 at the weekend. One
thing I have noticed very quickly is that LMS running on OSX seems to be
much more stable than on Windows 7. Streaming no longer drops out

 John,

The streams used in the menu.opml are 96 kbps (in an old BBC blog back
sometime last year it was stated that the 96kbps and 48 kbps would be
HE-AAC, which makes sense, but I haven't checked whether the 96kbps
 stream is AAC-LC or HE-AAC)).

Listeners outside the UK can only access the 96kbps and 48kbps streams.

Thanks again John. The Squeezebox community is fantastic. Such a shame
Logitech have dropped the line.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] HLS for dummies

2015-02-21 Thread JPatten

Hi I have been struggling with the various threads on HLS. I live
outside the UK. I have LMS running on Windows 7 and my players are
Touch, Classic and Duo. All of my BBC iPlayer streaming has broken in
common with everybody else. The generic BBC player does work with MP3
streams but I get constant drop outs (very irritating any increasing
buffering does not resolve it). I followed one of the threads and
installed the third party LMA repository courtesy of BPA also also
installed ffmpeg.exe which came from here -
http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/. Please see attached screenshots of
the settings in Plugins and Advanced File Settings. The bottom line is
nothing working for me apart from the patchy basic BBC app. It seems
that there might be issues with the version of ffmpeg. If so can
somebody point at a reliable destination url please rather than
indicating it is available from a particular website or page as there
appears there can be several options on the sites that do have ffmpeg
downloads available.

Not loving the Beeb at the minute in common with many.:(

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] HLS for dummies

2015-02-21 Thread JPatten

JohnB wrote:
I'm sure others with more expertise will reply, but in the meantime:

Can you double check the location of the files you have downloaded,
 etc?

(The mp3 option is probably greyed out on your screen-shot because you
don't have Lame installed, otherwise that looks OK to me.)

This is an outline of what is needed and what works on my Windows 7 64
 bit system:

 - Install Triode's BBC iPlayer LMS plugin, and leave its settings at the
 default:
Live Stream Preference set to AAC FlashAAC FlashMP3 WMA
 Allow Transcoding set to Enable
(Triode's plugin isn't strictly necessary to play the HLS streams but is
 sure makes life much easier)

 - Download the *STATIC* build of ffmpeg from the source you used.
 Unzip it with 7-Zip.
Find the ffmpeg.exe file (in the unzipped Bin folder) and copy it over
to the right folder, which on my Windows 7 64 bit is:
 C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\

 The folder should also contain faad.exe, flac.exe. sox.exe so on a 32
bit system you can search for those to find the right folder.

 - Install bpa's plugin, which you have done.

 - Download bonze's replacement menu for Triode's BBC iPlayer plugin
 from:
 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?53229-Announce-BBCiPlayer-Plugin-%28UK-only%29p=807276#post807276
As you are outside the UK, download the menu_nonuk.zip version.
Unzip the file to get the menu.opml file
Find where the existing menu.opml file is, on my W7 64 bit it is in:
 C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\BBCiPlayer\
Rename the existing menu.opml to, say, menu.oplm.orig in case you
 want to revert to it.
 Copy the replacement menu.opml over.
Make sure you keep a backup copy of the replacement menu.opml file in
case the one you copied over gets overwritten at some point in time
 (e.g. when clearing the cache).
 Restart LMS
You can also reboot, but this shouldn't be necessary.

Thanks John for that - much appreciated. I will take a look indepth when
I get time later. I use a SMARTDNS service (Unlocator). Do you think I
should still use the non UK version?

Thanks

John

Thanks Guys

All working now on non-uk menu. Thanks for all your help and hard work.
Sounds very crisp. Listening to Radio 4 at the moment. I can't see what
the bitrate is. Any idea how I might check? It used to show on WMA
streams.

Thanks again

John

[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC 128k Streaming

2009-09-04 Thread JPatten

Hi, My iPhone can access the BBC 128k streams via Radiofeeds. The
fastest BBC streams I see through Slimserver is 48k vis either BBC alien

higher quality feeds? I know the URL is
mms://wmlive.bbc.co.uk/wms/bbc1/hi_s1 but this does not work in the Tune
in URl setting. Any ideas?

Thanks

Yes. When i connect I get 48k streams. The feed options available seem
fewer than using it on my iPhone.

Hi BPA, my home ISP in Ireland is Eircom and my IP location is showing
as Dublin. I am playing the 128k streams but getting 48k. If there is no
other way around it I suppose I could use a proxy.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Random playing of tracks on Playlist

2006-12-27 Thread JPatten

Hi, I have downloaded the Random Playlists Plug-in but it does not seem
to do what I want. I would like to randomly play tracks on a playlist
without having to select genre etc. Does anybody know of a way to do
this please? I have a large Chill Out playlist but I don't want it to
play in the same order each time and I would like it to mix up
albums/artists etc. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
