Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
I swear I had gotten it to work at one point yesterday too, but I can't figure out what I did or if Flow was maybe actually off or what. So far I haven't been able to find any error messages in the logs to explain why it is stopping, but maybe I don't have the right options turned on for that. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
I am running LMS version: 8.3.1 (1670141275) and the newest version of the plugin (2.1.2) on Docker (lmscommunity/logitechmediaserver:stable; host network mode). Obviously I am not the only one with problems at the moment, but since the latest update, the static binary keeps crashing ("Plugins::CastBridge::Squeeze2cast::beat (176) crashed ... restarting"). The other binary seems to work, but I cannot get Flow to work at all. No matter what I do, it stops after each song unless I turn Flow off. I hadn't seen anyone with that problem yet, but I might have missed that. Any ideas what I could do or what debugging options could I turn on to help identify the problem? I know I have the only UI for LMS open and no one else is messing with the cast devices manually or via the Home app or their buttons, etc. I have Node-Red and Home Assistant running on the network, which do look at the devices' states, but neither should ever be playing or pausing, unless they have their own bugs. I just use them to automatically turn on my receiver and adjust its volume when they see the Shield TV is playing, but they aren't supposed to mess with the casting states at all. I am pretty sure I had tried disabling them temporarily at point when troubleshooting but didn't see an improvement. I will have to try that again just to be sure. And this has happened on other speakers that aren't actually monitored there too. I am not sure I may have seen the play/pause issue only with the Materia Skin, so maybe that is another thing to check. The play/pause thing happens fairly rarely, so it is also hard to catch when troubleshooting. Thanks for looking into it and for all the background information. This was on a 2019 Shield TV, but it has also happened with JVC and Google devices. I have never seen these behaviors with any other services (at least Google Play Music or YouTube Music) as far as I know. I am surprised that these issues don't seem to be more common with other users. I have had them occasionally at least since I started using LMS around 7 months ago. I just finally got around to posting. :) Jobarr's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71198 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Thanks for explaining. philippe_44 wrote: > When you say the volume does not come back, what do you have in the UI? > 43% or 3%? It showed the 3% if I remember right. That is, it started at 3, I turned it up, paused it, it dropped to 3% on the device and in the UI and never returned after playing again. philippe_44 wrote: > The culprit seems to be volume feedback. That fits perfectly with what I have seen, some sort of echo feedback loop. It probably kept trying to set it to 0%, seeing it bumped up to 3%, and then assumed that 3% was the correct value that I set manually, so it never saw a need to return to 43%. Even times when the volume seems to jump around and needs to be reset several times before stabilizing, it seems like LMS is constantly trying to catch up with what the device is doing while making things worse by also adjusting the device at the same time, causing it to have to catch up again. philippe_44 wrote: > I believe its a bug in the CC device but Ive added a version with yet > another parameter to disable feedback The fact that it is not going to 0 might be a bug, but I have definitely seen this weight feedback loop behavior on multiple devices from multiple manufacturers (Nvidia, Google, and JVC). I just updated and will try disabling the feedback to LMS. I can definitely live without that function, and that sounds like it might solve the issue. Thanks a lot. I am still seeing an odd bug occasionally where it starts playing again after pausing it or even pausing it after playing. I am having a had time reproducing it, but I think I caught it here once: 32870. Might this be the same issue? Is it possible that LMS is seeing the "playing" or "paused" status with a slight delay and then playing or pausing when it shouldn't? +---+ |Filename: log2.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=32870| +---+ Jobarr's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71198 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Would it be possible to just ignore it when LMS tries to set the volume to 0? I don't really see why that is even necessary. Does this log have what you need? slartibartfast wrote: > There is a setting to allow LMS to control the volume. Both "only when playing" and "transparent forward" cause the issue. They also do other weird things, like sometimes the volume jumps all over the place and has to be reset multiple times before stabilizing. "Ignore all changes" works, but then I can't change the volume from LMS. I am not sure exactly where the issue lies, but it doesn't seem to matter which Chromecast device I use (Shield TV, Google Home Max, JVC Link 300, etc.). I thought it might even be the Material Skin for LMS, but changing that doesn't seem to help either, so I think it is the bridge or LMS itself. I don't have any other speakers to test with but Chromecast ones. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
My volume seems to get set to about 3% (2.99...) every time I pause or stop and doesn't necessarily get reset when I press play again. Is this happening to anyone else? Any workarounds?
