Many thanks for taking the time to look

Having investigated further I think the problem is that I cannot change
the owner of a directory within a symbolic link. So when Spotty installs
it thinks the owner is wrong.
That's my guess.

Actually I have since discovered that the file lms is trying to chmod
doesn't even exist.
It's like it's not installing properly, but why I haven't got a clue.
I'm not sure I have permission problems as all the cache gets rewritten
if I delete it and start lms again

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-09-01 Thread TrophyJem

I wonder if someone can help with my problem?
I have a symbolic link to a hard drive where my cache is located.
All works fine apart from when I try to install Spotty, I get the
following error;
Can't chmod()
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/PlayerSettings.pm
I'm sure it's a permissions thing so I've tried;
sudo chown -R squeezeboxserver:nogroup /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/
But that didn't help.
Any pointers appreciated
