Following the upgrade to 2.1.11 this issue appears to be solved, and I
no longer have problems playing FLACs with no transcoding.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2022-12-13 Thread Verulam

Philippe,

Thanks for your ongoing help with this.

I have upgrade to 2.1.10 this morning, and started to have problems with
a playlist of FLACs as the FLACs would end early, with the next track
playing. This occured with both streaming set to normal and underrun.
However, there was no consitent behaviour, with the only message in the
log stating that one track had stopped and another began. So I was not
sure whether it was a bridge problem,
an issue with LMS reading the FLAC files from my hard drive, or a fault
in my network.

This problem was solved by changing from no transcode, to transcoding in
FLAC.

I thought it might be useful posting this.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2022-12-11 Thread Verulam

Phillipe

Thank you for your hard work on this.

When I upgraded to castbridge 2.1.1 I had a similar problem in that it
was only playing one item from my playlist and then stopping.

I have been playing around with the settings. Initially I had transcode
set to FLAC. When I changed transcode to None, the problem disappeared
and the player automatically moved from one item to the next on my
playlist (the original files were 44.1 FLAC).

I notice on the log though that each track is stated to be shorter than
expected ([15:59:20.418386] slimproto_run:748 [0x5b99b0]: Track shorter
than expected (188750/189480)) for example and that each item played on
the playlist increased the bridge number. The first track was bridge-1
then bridge-2, etc. Is this supposed to happen?

Stuart,

Thank you very much for all your hard work on this. It is the main
reason why I still continue to use the LMS system.

I am having a slight problem with your new series/podcasts favourites.

I have favourited some series using Material Skin (The Archers on Radio
4 and Through the Night on Radio 3), but an error message is appearing
sometimes when I try to use it.

ERROR: List processing failed TypeError: e.text.split is not a function.
The problem also arises on other GUIs (although the error message is
different).

However, this error does not always arise. I tried it first thing this
morning - it worked without the error. Then around 3 hours later,
without using LMS in the interim, I tried again but the error arose when
I selected either series in my favourites - no list of programmes came
up, just the error message.

If I now go into BBC Sounds, and then try my favourites again it works.

I am having the same problem.

Trying to compare the logging information, my thoughts are:

Using MPD stream would appear to work.

Using DASH with JSON stream works if the encryption is 0, but if the
encryption is 1 is does not.

Thanks for the explanation on tracks.

That explains why when playing BBC Sounds to my Chromecast players there
was a gap between programs. To solve this I have utilised the flow
facility in the ChromecastBridge plugin settings to facilitate gapless
playing, but this requires a transcoding by LMS (flac works well).

I must admit that I just searched for "Warlock" rather than "Peter
Warlock".

I agree that the BBC Sounds Website provides a more complete search -
although it comes up with lots under "Warlock" without any facility to
sort or refine the search (eg just Radio 3 etc.).

The BBC Sounds app on my android phone returns the same list as on the
plugin for "Warlock".

One disadvantage to searching, is that it only comes back with
information in the programme name or details. Information available
only in the tracklist is not searchable.

For example, The Through the Night programme on Radio 3 early this
morning (31 January) included Bethlehem Down by Peter Warlock. However,
if you search for Warlock, all you get is one episode of Time Travels -
Poltergeists and Warlocks.

This is a issue with BBC Sounds generally, rather than this plugin.

Thank you for all your hard work on this plugin.

The additional option in 2.7.2 to stop the track/program details
switching on the display is helpful. However, my preference would be to
show the track details only rather than default back to the program
details only. I listen to BBC radio 3 most of the time, and the
information that I look for is the track details rather than the program
description.

Is it possible to change the user option to facilitate this possibility
ie make it a three choice option rather than a binary one?

Thank for the updates in 2.6.0 to show now playing information. This
works well, although I would prefer a longer now playing, compared with

And now onto the next ask...

Is it possible to have the option for a three line display, so that the
