Some new info here. I repeated the steps:
13:42 enabled DEBUG level for player.source
13:43 hit play button for CD track and... worked!

Yes I replaced the cdda2wav.exe in the bin folder, in fact I'm able to
select now the optical drive in the plugin settings page.
The list shows track 01, track 02, etc.

Hi,
it's is still me.
Unfortunately I'm not able to play cds. After the previous issue I'm
able to see the tracks when I use the menu from Extras but when I choose
one track I get the error "Can't open file for: CD Track 01 (duration)
(duration)"
In the log file I can see only the entry:

I just installed the plug-in but via settings but cannot find the
optical drive (USB DVD/CD player).
My LMS is the version 7.9.1 running on W10 Pro in italian (no virtual
server). I installed the pluging via LMS settings and I can see it has
been successfully installed, but in the settings
