Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty API Key Disabled & Blocked

2022-09-19 Thread punnet

Thinking about this some more, & maybe clutching at straws...

A day or two before receiving the block I had rebooted twice & updated a
couple of plugins. Just guessing, but maybe this triggered too many
automatic scans in too short a space of time?

I removed the client ID & disabled any Online Integration so Spotty is
working again - for now at least.

Will see how it goes.

Unfortunately Sprocket never recived much attention when it was released
- although I see 0.4 has been downloaded 86 times. Don't think the
plugin author had much time or inclination to maimtain it.

The combination of the LMS podcast plugin & Material Skin is pretty good
though & allows you to search for & subscribe to podcasts.

seeking/pausing within streams works very well & is a welcome addition.

Yeah, Mixlr calls them showreels. I've never had any success in finding
a URL for these that plays through LMS. Not to worry, I sometimes use
Stream What You Hear to listen to shows on my Radio. Thanks for your
work on this, maybe someone will come along & add to it.

Many thanks from me as well. The plugin works well & has completely
taken the pain out of trying to extract a playable URL.

Is it likely that it will be able to play on-demand shows sometime?
There is a big time-difference for me with the station I listen to, it
would be fantastic to listen to the programmes at a time that suits me.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Preannounce: Sprocket - Pocket Casts plugin

2020-11-23 Thread punnet

Just wanted to report that version 0.2 works well for me now that I have
taken out a paid subscription. If anything it seems to work better than
previously, as I now get artwork & a progress bar on my SB Radio -
pretty sure that didn't appear before. The only issue is that the time
displayed for a podcast is sometimes innacurate, which I think has been
reported in another thread.

Not sure it'll be any more appealing to you, but there is a 12 months
for the price of 10 offer, if you pay for a year in advance. I probably
wouldn't have bothered paying if it meant registering my details on yet
another website but it was easy on my phone, as I have a card registered
with the Play Store already & that takes care of the payments. Will give
it a few months to see how often I use it.

Tried version 0.4 but I'm getting the same messages in the log, 401
unauthorised.

When I log into play.pocketcasts.com there is a pop-up message saying it
looks like I have a free account & that the web player is part of Pocket
Casts Plus. Wondering if Sprocket only works now with paid subsriptions,
I might upgrade later to see if it makes any difference.

That's correct, I can log in or out & the changes are reflected in the
sprocket.prefs file. The problem is in accessing my podcast list.

Well, I thought that installing another version might fix it, but I
tried both 7.9.3 & 7.9.4 and get the same message as before. Should I
delete anything from the cache when installing a different version of
LMS?

I think you're right, sadly. Maybe the manual installation puts people
off?
I only recently discovered how easy it is to find & subscribe to
podcasts using the LMS podcast app & Material Skin, so will probably use
that for now.

I tried that too, with a reboot inbetween for good measure, but no joy.
I haven't used the app much for several weeks as I'm not a big podcast
listener, so not sure when the problem started either. Seems useful for
keeping my subscriptions in sync across a few devices though.

I noticed this a few days ago as well. I hoped it was a problem at the
Pocket Casts end that would be resolved if I waited.

Found these entries in the server log, but not sure if it sheds any
light on the problem.
