Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2022-11-17 Thread devgcl

I have v0.144.2 and checked the Signature file which has the necessary
comma. However, I am not getting any sound on Youtube despite they show
as playing.
My logfile shows the following error
[22-11-18 02:41:53.6616] Slim::Web::JSONRPC::requestMethod (425) Request
failed with error: Bad dispatch!
[22-11-18 02:41:53.6688] Slim::Control::Request::execute (1888) Error:

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the help! I also noticed the update to 0.144.2 came available
today. Prior to making the local edit or updating the plugin i decided
to test if the problem was still there. To my suprise the audio started
playing (same videos that didnt work few days ago). Don't know how this
is possible but happy anyway things work again.

To update the plugin use the regular web interface to LMS
Settings/Plugins
However, that will only collect the official release of the plugin
unless you add some other beta repo or you patch the source yourself

Not sure how to fix this on my system as I'm running LMS through a
docker on open media vault (OMV5)?

Tried to restarting the docker container hoping it would pull the latest
plugin etc but that didn't work.

This is reproducible with huge number of songs (not all) and I confirm
if I go to youtube it can be played.

Code:

Plugins::YouTube::ProtocolHandler::__ANON__ (817) cannot load player code:
Could not find JS function 'va' at

I thought I had this same problem but mine different. For some reason 2
of my songs which I play from YT don't work but when I go to YT they
work, so that got me thinking does this plugin stop working for songs
after a while (i.e. is there a limit on the number of times, it will
access a particular song)?

The error I get for these selected songs is 'can not open file'.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2022-03-12 Thread svetter

I have recently enabled YouTube in my LMS environment - this is greatly
appreciated as another source of music. not at the same streaming
quality as Tidal or Deezer, but a nice complement.

I am able to search in YouTube and play items. And I see my
subscriptions and am able to play items from the channels. Both are
greatly appreciated!

However, I am not able to see all of my playlists. I see only two of my
four playlists. Any advice on how to chase this down?

Thanks,

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2022-02-22 Thread tbessie

Hi Philippe et. al...

I've been using this plugin for a long time now, and I'm happy it's
there.

I can't find what the latest version of the plugin is; mine reports
v0.144.1, but how do I find out what the very latest available version
is?

Also, when I play back from a YouTube playlist, often a video plays back
(as audio), but stops after about 10 or 20 seconds of playback and goes
to the next item in the playlist.

Do you know why that might be happening?

Sorry if the answer to this posted elsewhere, but after several days
trying I've not found it and I suspect the solution is simple. (I'm no

I have managed to get the YT plugin apparently working, but there's no
sound.

The server log states this:

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2022-02-02 Thread lomcovaks

Hi Philippe,

I recently upgraded my Pi3 1Gb LMS system to a Pi4 8Gb with external SSD
and had to reconfigure my YouTube plugin.

I worked my way around the project creation and OAuth configuration
screens fairly well and authorised the plugin to access LMS.

The YouTube plugin is working fine - I can access my YouTube playlists
etc and see the artwork thumbnails in the overview screen.
You can see the artwork when within a particular playlist and both
individual tracks and playlists play.

However, when a playlist is selected to play, the playing track in the
screen only displays the generic YouTube icon and not the individual
track's artwork.

The log is also showing some errors (below the images) but I can't see
where I can correct the problem.

If you or anyone is able to offer any insights I'd much appreciate it.

Many thanks.

I see where the issue for url comes from. For the rest, I’m not sure,
you much have to use a different encoding or maybe the renderer does not
recognize any

I recently had to re-do the procedure for oauth (to access subscriptions
and playlists) and I noticed that the instructions don't quite match the
UI anymore. For example, there is no "other" type app to choose. I think
it didn't work when I chose "Desktop app" but now I use "TV" or
something and it works.

I don't remember where I found these instructions, but I had reasons to
believe they were the latest version. Could it have been somewhere in
the LMS plugins UI?

Anyway, I just wanted to mention that.

Then I have a question to @philippe: I'm struggling a bit with using
YouTube music URLs to work with the plugin. Part of the reason is that
some URLs (e.g. the Radio URLs) don't seem to work independently of the
page on which they're on (I assume they need a correct referrer url to
work).

But part of it also seems to be that the plugin doesn't seem to accept
urls starting with music.youtube A lot of the time, "music" can just
be manually replaced my "www" and then it works. Do you think you could
make the plugin accept music. youtube urls directly?

I don't know... I just tried as well to enable another installation and
after hitting "refresh" I got the code. Maybe there is something funny
with Win10 but to know better I'd need a log of what's happening. You'd
need to set YT logging to "debug"

For a reason that I cannot guess, your key is invalid. Make sure you
have checked the right options when you created it. Maybe just erase
your project and restart from scratch

Found the solution for anyone in same issue, the instructions for the
developer screens is out of date and I've never really used that google
developer area...

all i had to do was goto https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/
whilst logged into with me developer account, and enable the api from
there, apparently just creating credentials as per the instructions does
not work unless I do :)

Hello,

I can't read a track. There must have been an evolution of the API ?

Plugins::YouTube::ProtocolHandler::__ANON__ (817) cannot load player
code: Could not find JS function 'na' at
/usr/local/slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/YouTube/JSInterp.pm
line 406.

If you have an idea how to solve the problem.

Thanks and happy end of year party

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2021-11-16 Thread gly

Hello, I am new to this forum.

A few weeks ago I installed "picore player" on a "pi3". It gave a new
lease of life to my radio squeezebox.

I tried to install the youtube plugin today.

Everything is installing very well, the code generation and account
authorization is going very well.

On the other hand, when I launch the plugin “my playlist”, “my
subcription” and everything else remains hopelessly empty….

What did I do wrong?

Thanks for your help

Gilles

This step worked fine for me. I had to click the button and update the
site if I correctly remember. Anyway, it is stated in the steps what to
do. It might be, that clicking on the "get code" link does nothing and
for this there is a hint of what to do.

Where I failed is later in the stage, when trying to link to my personal
youtube account so I can play my favorites.

Linking the general API key to play any video from youtube in general
should work fine.

No I mean there is a set of crypto extension that I add as part of the
plugin and I need to build them for each Perl / CPU / OS combination.

I just tried to set this up and failed, for I think similar reasons to
the above.

I sorted the API and initial credentials/secret, all input into the
plugin ok. It appears that the next step is to click the "get code" box,
but this does nothing. Looking at the log file, it shows that a URL was
unauthorized, but I don't know what the URL is.

The server is a pi, and I'm accessing the settings from a Ubuntu PC that
is logged into the relevant Google account. Do I need to log into the
Google account from the pi to sort this?

As an aside, it would be great if this worked with multiple YouTube
accounts, so the kids could each access their own accounts on their own
Squeezeboxes. In case you're bored and fancy doing something :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2021-08-09 Thread bvrulez

I wanted to setup Youtube API today and it was not working. I got this
error in the log with some JSON following:

Code:

[21-08-09 16:15:20.3710] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (130)
Error: Select task failed calling Slim::Networking::Async::_async_read: Can't

  [21-08-09 16:16:42.8351] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1341) Warning:
[16:16:42.8346] do {

I then manually opened up the URL it was trying to connect to in a
browser and got a response saying I have to activate the key, which was
possible and it now works.

THIS STEP OF EXTRA ACTIVATION SEEMS TO BE MISSING IN THE DESCRIPTION FOR
SETTING UP AN API KEY IN THE LMS GUI WHEN NO KEY IS YET APPLIED.

Also, I think the OAuth-process might be a bit different now. Maybe we
have to setup a test user. It's not working yet for me, altough I got
the 8 digit code and authorized it and got a "successfull". I had to
chose a platform for my app and used "Desktop".

your plugin is working again. I don't know what happened before. Maybe
something went wrong with the last update of the plugin. Many thanks for

Trying to get the plugin working on raspberry pi 2 with max2play, I also
tried with picoreplayer first and was unable to get it working. I
switched over to max2play hoping maybe the issue was missing packages,
but max2play not working either

did a clean install of max2play

when I try to play one of my playlists it just tries one track after
another endlessly with the following errors

[21-06-24 23:55:48.7727] Plugins::YouTube::ProtocolHandler::__ANON__
(460) no stream/DASH found
[21-06-24 23:55:49.4014] Plugins::YouTube::ProtocolHandler::getSignature
(786) no player url to unobfuscate signature

mostly
[21-06-24 23:55:49.4014] Plugins::YouTube::ProtocolHandler::getSignature
(786) no player url to unobfuscate signature

libio-socket-ssl-perl libnet-ssleay-perl are all installed

I'm using the same google account that I have working on a different
setup with debian, that one works perfectly and is running LMS 8.1

This max2play setup is running LMS 8.0.1 - perhaps that is the
difference maker?

Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem.

Trying to compare the logging information, my thoughts are:

Using MPD stream would appear to work.

Using DASH with JSON stream works if the encryption is 0, but if the
encryption is 1 is does not.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2021-06-11 Thread ModelCitizen

Well I've been going round the houses with this.

But in case it helps anyone else to generate their OAuth client ID
correctly (so they can use their person YouTube account) I found I had
to select 'Desktop App' as the application type when I created it.

I tried a few others before settling on 'Desktop App' and none of them
worked for me (the Client ID and Client Secret did not generate a code
in the plugin settings page).

YouTube plugin vs: 0.140.1
Server vs: 8.1.1

Take care of your tongue. It is in a wet place and can easily slip.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2021-06-06 Thread ModelCitizen

My YouTube plugin returns nothing at all. Every search/listing or
whatever produces a blank.

Checked my credentials, keys etc. All fine. Re-entered them just in
case. No joy

So I uninstalled the plugin and deleted my preferences. Reinstalled,
added back details. No joy

I deleted my Google OAuth Project and remade it, recreating the new
credentials. No joy. Still the same.

Now all I'm left with is I'm doing something really, really stupid.

Anyone any idea what it might be? My 8.1.1 server is on a dedicated
64bit Windows 10 machine. Everything else works as it should

BTW. The instructions for creating a new key and client ID are out of
date.

Thanks
