What version of AlienBBC are you using ? With the iPlayemenu menu support there is a separate Search facility which is provided by BBC. The keypad menu search was avbailable for AlienBBC on SS 6.5 but IIRC it is not available for SC 7.x -- bpa

I'm running SC7.2.1 with AlienBBC 2.02b1, so yes it does have the Search iPlayer option, which I do use. But sometimes it would be just easier to go to Radio 1 and then press 6 to skip to 'M' and just browse there quickly. -- Wigster

In SC 7.x all menu handling for AlienBBC is handled by SC core code and so shortcuts using keypad etc would be the same for most of the others menus handling. You need to make a SC request and not an AlienBBC request. Possible alternatives would be to setup some predefined searches as menu

The core SC has two modes - alphabetical which is supposed to be used when the list is sorted and number based when it is not. I think we may be able to make it do the alphabetical one but we would need to have sorted lists (which we don't all the time?) -- Triode

AlienBBC does special handling to present the Categories and Schedules but otherwise the menus are extracted from the BBC iPlayer web pages. The Alternate Listen Again menu are derived from BBC XML feed for the programs. The order of the menu items are as per the BBC supplies them. -- bpa
