[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Danish Radio for AlienBBC
Hi all, Why not use the RadioPlaylist plugin instead of AlienBBC? It works great for me and is a lot easier to setup. You just create a playlist with the radio streams you want (including wma based like Sveriges Radio) and then select this playlist in the plugin menu on the SqueezeBox. I have not tried it though with RealAudio streams. http://www.jamescraig.co.uk/SlimServer/#RadioPlaylist_Plugin Regards, Jimmy -- jkarlsson jkarlsson's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3326 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19609 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

What is the advantage of including these stations in AlienBBC rather than a playlist such as was posted in the german forum - a fragment is below. As I see it the main point of AlienBBC besides RM streams is the dynamic creation of menus by parsing a a web site which is always up to date (as long as web doesn't change)rather than a static list which will have to updated by hand by modifying the source. Code: [playlist] PlaylistName=ARD Radios File1=rtsp://live-ra.dradio.de/live/deutschlandfunk/dlf_64k.rm Title1=Deutschlandfunk (DLF) :: Hören ist Wissen Length1=-1 File2=rtsp://live-ra.dradio.de/live/deutschlandradio/dlr_64k.rm Title2=Deutschlandradio Kultur (DKultur) :: Kultur ist überall Length2=-1 File3=rtsp://a1103.l1433739318.c14337.g.lr.akamaistream.net/live/D/1103/14337/v0001/reflector:39318 Title3=Deutsche Welle :: Politik, Wissenschaft, Kultur, Service, Musik Length3=-1 File4=rtsp://213.254.239.61/farm/*/encoder/radiobremen/live/bremen4.rm Title4=Bremen Vier :: Pop, Rock, Dance, Radio-Comix -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19609 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

tagg Wrote: I am new to this, but my current understanding is that Real or WMA links cannot be used directly in a playlist, and AlienBBC also allows structured menus, which playlists don't. Am I wrong here? You can put RealAudio links in playlists but as you say playlists are not as structured. Another approach if you have AlienBBC installed is to create a folder AlienStream in your playlist folder. AlienBBC will then read this and display it in the AlienBBC Playlists section. Having said that your code looks ok and could be added to AlienBBC. As you may have seen in the other thread, I think we need to have a rethink about how radio stations are added to SlimServer and whether they should be in AlienBBC or not. I will add your 'Danmarks Radio' code to the AlienBBC source. -- Neil Sleightholm Neil Sleightholm's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=131 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19609 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
