Seems that Apple have moved to Java SE6 with Snow Leopard and people are
complaining. Maybe they will fix the problems in the first update
together with Flash which went backwards.
Perhaps I'll just sit tight. One day I'll learn not to update software
until version .1

OK did that and it loaded Softsqueeze, described as
org.titmuss.softsqueeze.Application
Seems to work; playing an Aretha Franklin track as I write. Not sure
how I tell if it is 3.9b1 or 3.7 though.
What next guvnor?

Opened the configuration menu and it is indeed 3.9b1; so far so good. So
how come I can't download the .app to fire up the player?

is that just a Microsoft invention?
Interestingly the old 3.7 Softsqueeze does load properly - I installed
it from the Extras menu in SC's web interface and the .app downloaded
nicely. Must be some difference between the versions 3.7 v 3.9b1. Does
that help narrow things down at all?
Viv

though - is there a setting file or two that I should copy and
reinstall? Or would all that be a waste of time anyway?
None of this is, of course, vital in the great scheme of things but it
would be really good to get everything working smoothly again.

probably wouldn't. I'm now on Snow Leopard
10.6.1 which is the update recently issued by Apple but still hasn't
fixed my issues. The Java version is SE6 as supplied with Snow Leopard.

No, 7.2 wouldn't work on Snow Leopard and had to be replaced with 7.3.4
as documented in the SqueezeCenter forum. My initial post was therefore
correct, that SS 3.9b1 wouldn't work on 7.2 under Snow L but incorrect
since SC wasn't working either.

Is there a planned Alien update for SqueezeCentre 7.2? I can't seem to
install the current version on my iMac and believe I read that this
will soon be resolved, together with iPlayer functionality.
I miss my BBC.
What news?

I hope that is as clear as I can make it and wish that the mPlayer

Seems to me that a new app is needed if that were possible. However,
presumably it would require co-operation from Amazon who may be less
helpful than Spotify was.
The alternative may have to be to use Phillipe's Airplay app and stream

Many thanks Michael - working nicely. Love Radio Paradise - enjoy it
more than Amazon Music or Spotify, making me listen to music I wouldn't
otherwise bother with.

My mp3 files won't play. Using LMS 7.9.2 with Airplay Bridge through the

music except mp3 files with the message "unable to play file type". No

I think the Beam is Airplay 2 but it does play M4A and ALAC encoded
files from your Airplay plugin. Only mp3 affected, very strange since

Now working pretty well. Oddly the iPhone and iPad need a long press on
the Airplay selection bar before it locks onto the Squeezebox. Is this
