Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
I have an album in Spotty that I simply cannot get removed. It is Phoebe Bridger's "Punisher". Its tracks are duplicated, I'm trying to remove it, so I can re-add it with just one copy of the tracks. Thanks for your log file. I'm wondering whether this is a temporary issue. We've seen such things before: items would be replaced/removed, but they'd stay around for a bit, though non-functional. Now what makes your case interesting is that the non-functional version of the album seems to be perfectly fine here in Switzerland: https://open.spotify.com/album/2xECuqnvvmVktV7UO8Dd3s. But the data in the log is inconsistent. It should either have an "is_playable" flag, or an "available_markets" markets list of countries. But the former does not exist, and the latter is empty. Spotty would only filter by "available_markets" if it was not empty, as some items would _always_ come with an empty list... So please try to unfavorite the above album and/or give it some time. This might be a data issue on Spotify's end. It wouldn't be the first time. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have an album in Spotty that I simply cannot get removed. It is Phoebe Bridger's "Punisher". Its tracks are duplicated, I'm trying to remove it, so I can re-add it with just one copy of the tracks. Would the album show up if you drilled down the Spotty menu to Albums? You could try to shut down LMS, move spotty.db out of the cache folder, then try again. Don't delete it, as you'd want to move it back in place if that didn't fix it. If it did show up in aformentioned Albums menu, navigate to the level before that, enable debug logging for plugin.spotty, drill down to the Albums level. Then disable logging again and send me a copy of the server.log.zip file. How does one forcibly (and reliably) remove an online album if no reference exists in Spotify? This is driving me nuts, and it seems to happen fairly frequently enough that I'm wondering if there's a way to add an option to to tell LMS - DELETE this album from your database! I fear the problem lies in Spotify, that the album would still be listed in your favorites, but with some flag to have it hidden. And I might be missing that flag somehow. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Happy New Year. I have an album in Spotty that I simply cannot get removed. It is Phoebe Bridger's "Punisher". Its tracks are duplicated, I'm trying to remove it, so I can re-add it with just one copy of the tracks. The problem is, the variant of the album no longer exists in Spotify, so it's not possible to Unfavorite it. And I've cleared the LMS library a dozen times, including Online music. The album simply won't go away. I've re-favorited the album in Spotify, and it then shows as two albums in LMS. So I remove it, clear all in LMS, and one is removed but the one with the dups is not. How does one forcibly (and reliably) remove an online album if no reference exists in Spotify? This is driving me nuts, and it seems to happen fairly frequently enough that I'm wondering if there's a way to add an option to to tell LMS - DELETE this album from your database! Hi. I have just purchased a Spotify premium (family) account and wanted to use with my LMS on a raspberry Pi. The installation of spotty (4.8.4) along with the instructions to activate the device worked fine. However, when I want to play a song from Spotify, I get "Dateityp kann nicht wiedergegeben werden für:" ("file type cannot be played for:"). Is there any library that I need to install in addition to the plugin? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
So sorry to have to ask what's probably been asked before, but searching this thread has got me most of the way there, but not all the way. Having the Qobuz and Spotify albums show in my music's "new music" page is fantastic, but I'm trying to remove the online str4eaming duplicates of local albums. I have found and enabled the server plugin setting to "show only local album" and saved settings under the OMLI plugin settings. I also read from searching that I need to accompany that with selecting the "Library View" in my client GUI that hides online duplicates (and I've even seen the screenshot of that switch) - but I can't seem to find that setting in the Material Skin nor the old default skin. Where / how do I get to the Library View options in Material Skin? thanks! dwc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1892 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi. I posted back in March of 2021 about how music played via Spotty gets back to Spotify (or doesn't) so the artist gets paid and the Spotify curated playlists reflect your listening. Michael, I believe, confirmed that this "report back" wasn't available in the Librespot development at that time. My Spotify 2022 Unwrapped came out today and based on the number of songs played, it looks like some of my LMS Spotty listening is included but a lot is not. 19 months have past with lots of LMS development in that time. In any case, I've rolled back the spotty prefs file and the credentials file which must have removed themselves when I tried to see if signing out of the account and back in again would fix it. I think you can stop investigating the plugin or LMS or whatever. As long as you can't get the spotty binary to give you an "authorized" response when run in a command window, no change you do in LMS would help in any way. As this simple check is failing, but the helper itself has not changed, I only see two possible reasons for the failure: - credentials are wrong: reset your password to something really simple in Spotify, try again using spotty. - something is preventing the helper spotty.exe from accessing the internet: double check your firewall(s), antivirus and security products, whether any of these block spotty.exe. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Definitely not blocked (can't see how this would have changed really) But something did change. Spotty did not. Any system updates you installed? If you enable logging for Spotty, you could see the command spotty.exe is using to try to sign in. You could use that in a command window to try it out manually. Basically: spotty.exe -n auth -a -c . -u -p You should then find a credentials.json in your folder. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
If you ever consider changing backends, https://github.com/Spotifyd/spotifyd seems to have utterly rock-solid performance. I was feeding this into an icecast stream and was able to playback for >24hrs continuously without a single hitch in that service. Spotifyd actually uses the same backend library as Spotty: librespot. The problem is not the backend in our case, but the integration with LMS. Both LMS and the Spotify apps want to be in control of the playback. This causes difficult situations which Spotty still doesn't handle that well. If we decided to drop LMS control, then librespot would just do the job. You'd have delays in playback, no way to sync volume, change track from LMS, metadata in the LMS environment etc., but fewer issues for sure. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
So all of a sudden Spotty isn't interfacing with the Spotify system. Looking back at the logs it appears it has been having difficulty with this for a few days but I hadn't tried to use it in that period. So when I tried to go onto it, I got an error message about it not being able to connect for some reason, which I didn't get hold of, and to check something in the settings (which I did and it all looked OK). So I deleted the account from spotty and thought it would work to sign in again. When I try to do this it presents with the Spotify connect thing (which doesn't work, even though the authorisation appears in the players - even if I run it on Spotify using the machine LMS is installed on - simply I click the Spotify authorisation option, and then nothing at all happens, even after several minutes). If I try and enter the Spotify account username and password (which are correct) on applying this, it just comes up Authorisation failed In the logs all it says is [22-10-27 22:18:38.4980] Plugins::Spotty::Settings::Auth::handler (83) Authorization failed: Though looking back through the logs I've also been getting earlier: [22-10-27 21:50:41.3300] Plugins::Spotty::OPML::__ANON__ (198) Failed to get featured playlists and/or token - do not continue [22-10-27 21:50:45.8988] Plugins::Spotty::OPML::__ANON__ (198) Failed to get featured playlists and/or token - do not continue [22-10-27 21:51:46.6217] Plugins::Spotty::API::Token::_gotTokenInfo (168) Failed to create session or connect to servers. These were coming up when neither LMS nor Spotty were being used to do anything I can't think this is an account issue (especially since I've gone in and removed all links to apps in the Spotify account) and that the account works on everything but LMS but simply won't sign back in. LMS and the host have also been restarted but this hasn't made any difference at all and the errors don't suggest what I can do about this... Any ideas? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Hello, Just to let you know, I'm facing a similar issue with Spotty v4.8.4 in Connect mode. It has for months stopped playing occasionally, but recently it has got much worse and now rarely plays more than one track. I'm running LMS v 7.9.2 on amd64 on Debian. The helper application is version 1.3.0 I'm using a Client ID with one account. Using Spotty from the LMS interface is fine, it's just the Connect interface that's not working perfectly. I'm going to try upgrading LMS to version 8+ to see if it helps. Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to test in this environment. Thanks for all the great work on this plugin and LMS in general. tullis's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68484 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
By way of update in case it is useful info. We had an unscheduled power outage today that messed up a lot of stuff mainly the last fm autoscrobbler. Mostly I have it all back to normal normal but there was some more strangeness on the Spotify Connect. The one player I have with connect ( see recent posts) failed to appear in the spotify app. It flashes up for a second but never persists. Log shows [22-10-05 17:11:00.4004] Plugins::Spotty::Connect::DaemonManager::checkAPIConnectPlayers (210) Connect daemon is running, but not connected - shutting down to force restart: I've disabled connect altogether now as it's not usable for me. Shame because it was quite a useful function but I do recognise that it's clearly very challenging to get it work. v4.8.4 tries (once again) to address the unwanted volume changes when Connect mode starts. Additional minor changes: - don't use the fallback AP if the spotty helper tells us it doesn't support it. - don't update the display name pref unless it has changed - increase the maximum number of podcast episodes shown in the Spotty menus Michael "It doesn't work - what shall I do?" - "Please check your server.log and/or scanner.log file!" Not sure if this is the right thread but Running Spotty 4.8.3 on LMS, with Spotify Premium account. Spotify connect doesn't work well at all. Controlling from iOS / Android app - Spotify connect will play one song (sometime stops before it finishes) and then any attempt to change track or play the next song in the queue just fails. Spotify app shows the song playing, the time bar progressing and connect being connected to the Squeezebox end point - but no sound/playing from Squeezebox. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Also, if at a later date I buy a CD for an album I have added as a favorite (hence positioning it in the local library, if my assumption is correct), would removing it from Spotify's favorites be enough to remove it from local library (where it would be substituted by my personal rip)? It wouldn't substitute the local copy, but sit there side by side with it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
When you say "integrate local library", I see you mention favorites. I add an album as a favorite and I should find it in my local library, correct? Would it be under the correct artist, if the relevant tag is the same? Yes. "the same" sometimes is difficult to get, though... Thinking about using this to fill in "the blanks" for some artists I like, for whom I like the whole discography. Is that possible this way? Yes, that's part of the idea. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It turns out that my kids added a long forgotten spotify account that was not included in my Spotify for developers account. So, if you ever encounter the error message "could not get access token" make sure to check your Spotty settings in LMS. Check first if you have a Spotify Client ID, follow the instructions and get such an ID. If you have such an ID access your Spotify for developers account and DOUBLE or TRIPLE check whether ALL accounts in use by you are REALLY registered there. Thanks again for your help! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Is there a possibility of a plugin that checks the time code of a track and forces a "next track" if it doesn't keep going after a while? I'd code it myself if somebody could point me in the right direction. That's certainly possible, but will/would come with its own share of challenges: how does it figure out whether playback stopped accidentally vs. because you told it to stop? And that's a topic which does not belong here... ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Hi Michael, thanks for everything you do here- spotty is mostly perfect and it's really given our squeezeboxes a longer life than I think anybody expected to get out of these. One small issue I'm running into is that playlists on spotty tend to get "stuck" and hang at the end of some tracks. It'll play 10-15 tracks fine but then hang at the end of one of the tracks instead of progressing to the next track. If I click skip track on the web interface, it picks right back up and starts playing again. This happens at least once or twice a day so it's not a show-stopper but it is a little bit of an issue when I'm trying to play tracks for my kids to fall asleep to. I've attached my server log, but i'm not entirely certain the error that occurs is showing up in the log. This happened to me at least once Saturday 22-03-19. +---+ |Filename: server.log.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37532| +---+ 1 Touch 5 Receivers 3 Controllers 2 Radios Making streaming music in my home a full time job! Thanks, Michael, I wasn't sure about the asynchronous token refreshes, but I enable them now. I also have another suspicion what went wrong but can confirm only later this day. Now, I have really strange behavior from Spotty. One moment it works with one account, then I add my second account, which is shown with the same name as the first account, I can access playlists from the first account but not from the second account. Then after changing to the second account I get the response "no access token" and Spotty is not working anymore.
