Yes, many thanks to him. He updated SvrPowerControl after some
suggestions of mine.

I don't use this plugin now, because he also produced Really Prevent
Standby, which does all I need.

And, of course, thanks to Triode for BBC iPlayer, which I use every
day.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Thanks for supporting third party developers!

2011-08-23 Thread bakker_be

I'd like to thank:
Erland for Trackstat Customscan
cparker for Spicefly Sugarcube
bluegaspode for Squeezepad, and most importantly the local playback
possibility. (No slight intended towards pippin, I just liked the
presentation better than iPeng, so I bought Squeezepad)

A big thank you should IMO also go to the developers at Logitech who
keep trying to put out a server software taking into account all of our
(sometimes quite borderline) remarks :)

I would like to add *Dr Lovegrove* for his frontend -Moose-. It makes
controlling the music I hear during long Windows sessions a pleasure.

Of course, *erland* has to be praised, too! I use several of his
plugins (cannot count how much of them ;-) ).

2011-08-11 Thread slate

Although my use of plugins is limited to a few, I will like to extend my
gratitude to developers of those I actually use:

- *ralphy* - Squeezeslave helps me through my work day.
- *Locuth* - SlimCtrl - when my former employer gave me an SE X1 there
was an app waiting for me
- *Triode* - BBCiPlayer - more reliable than the beep itself

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Thanks for supporting third party developers!

2011-08-11 Thread PasTim

Most of the plugins I use are Erland's, and I use them all the time. I
really do appreciate the work people like him put in, especially with
the apparently unannounced release of the flaky 7.6.0.

I have time on my hands, so I can play around with stuff, and don't get
too excited when things don't work first time. I also use the forum, and
found Erland's vital commentary on issues with 7.6.0 in time to make use
of the information.

However, I am very concerned that most 'normal' users (i.e. people who
expect stuff to work when they plug it in) will have been put off by
7.6 (whether they use 3rd party plugins or not) and will quickly move
to other more stable and reliable kit. The Logitech Squeezebox could
be on a slippery downward slope if they are not careful, which would be
a great shame.

I'll help with beta testing if asked (PM if needed), provided it
doesn't mean rescanning my library too often (my custom scan is around
2 hours at present and I don't want to do that too often, being someone
who turns their PC off at night). My set-up is a 64 bit Windows 7 PC
with wired Touch, all on latest 7.6.1 as of this morning.

I agree,
The SB wouldn't be the same without the plugins!
I also appreciate the very nice and quick support we get from the
developers.

Many thanks to you all

In addition to the thanks expressed here, I hope others also do as I do
and contribute $$ to the developers of the 3rd party applications that
they appreciate. And I agree--the 3rd party improvements are a major
value to the SB world.
