So far no one has contributed any code in the area of processing images.
I've no plans to work on it personally until after 2.0 is released.

I could try to add it since I really need it. Do you have a document/pointers that

describe images and how they are handled in the excel format? It looks like
they aren't a specialized cell, like formulats etc since images "overlay" from

The feature is not yet available in HSSF. If your images are relatively
small it should be relatively simple to add. I can only speak fro
myself but I do not know of anyone currently working on this for HSSF

I would like to insert a image into a workbook,
does HSSF allow me to do that? I didn't see it mentioned in the docs
from what I could see. I have a logo in gif format (can be any format) that I would
like to insert in the first row and column of the worksheet.
