[PoliticalForum] Re: Check out Terror-related acts committed by refugees widespread, accordin...

2017-07-09 Thread plainolamerican

Back in February, the Republican congressman from Wisconsin told

CNN’s
Alysyn Camerota that white terrorists of the far-right variety did not pose
the same level of danger to Americans as so-called “Islamist” or “jihadist”
terrorists. Why? “I don’t know, but I would just tell you there’s a
difference,” proclaimed Duffy, who went on to dismiss as a “one-off” the
attack

 on
a mosque in Quebec by a Trump-supporting

 white
nationalist, in which six Muslim worshippers were killed.

One-off? Seriously? Has Duffy been reading the news in recent days? On May
20, Richard Collins III, a black, 23-year-old U.S. Army second lieutenant,
was murdered

 while
visiting the University of Maryland by a member of a Facebook group called
“Alt-Reich: Nation.” According to University of Maryland police chief David
Mitchell, the group promotes “despicable” prejudice against minorities “and
especially African-Americans.”

shooting in the Islamic Cultural Centre of Quebec in Quebec city on January

Sunday. (Photo by Renaud Philippe/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images)]

Canadian security forces patrol after a fatal shooting in the Islamic
Cultural Centre of Quebec in Quebec City on Jan. 29, 2017.

On May 26, 53-year-old U.S. Army veteran Rick Best

 and
23-year-old recent university graduate Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche

 were
murdered, while 21-year-old poet Micah David-Cole Fletcher

 was
severely injured, by a knife-wielding white supremacist

 when
the three of them tried to prevent him from harassing a Muslim woman in a
headscarf on their commuter train in Portland, Oregon.

Why isn’t Duffy back on CNN decrying the threat posed by such vile domestic
terrorists? Why aren’t the Republican political and media establishments
loudly alerting voters to the white-skinned far-right menace in their midst?

Can you imagine the tweetstorm from President Donald Trump if two U.S.
soldiers — one serving, one a veteran — had been killed on U.S. soil by
*Islamist* terrorists in the space of a single week? Can you imagine the
rolling coverage on Fox News if it had been a ranting *Muslim* man who had
slashed the throats of three Good Samaritans trying to protect two women on
a train in Portland?

For far too long, those of us

 who
have warned of the threat from far-right, white supremacist terrorists have
been accused of trying to shift attention away from the threat of ISIS and
Al Qaeda — of acting as Muslim apologists.

For far too long, a veritable industry of politicians, pundits, and
self-styled security “experts” have strived to minimize the domestic terror
threat from far-right groups while inflating the threat from foreign
jihadists.

Compare and contrast: Islamist terrorists are depicted as wild-eyed
fanatics driven to kill by their religious faith or ideology, while
far-right terrorists — be it the shooter

 of
two Hindus in a bar in Kansas in February, or the killer
of
nine black worshippers in a church in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015,
or the murderer

 of
six Sikh worshippers in a temple in Duffy’s own state of Wisconsin in 2012
— are almost always “mentally ill
.”

After the recent double murder in Oregon, it didn’t take long for Portland
police spokesperson Pete Simpson to announce

[PoliticalForum] Fwd: [grendelreport] No Room at the Inn for an Iftar Dinner

2017-06-26 Thread plainolamerican
Despite the relatively recent nature of these formal celebrations, the fact is
that Islam’s presence in North America dates to the founding of the nation, and
before, as my book, “Thomas Jefferson’s Qur'an: Islam and the Founders,”
demonstrates.

Islam, an American religion

Muslims arrived in North America as early as the 17th century, eventually
composing 15 to 30 percent of the enslaved West African population of British
America. (Muslims from the Middle East did not begin to immigrate here as free
citizens until the late 19th century.) Even key American Founding Fathers
demonstrated a marked interest in the faith and its practitioners, most notably
Thomas Jefferson.

As a 22-year-old law student in Williamsburg, Virginia, Jefferson bought a
Qur’an—11 years before drafting the Declaration of Independence.

The purchase is symbolic of a longer historical connection between American and
Islamic worlds, and a more inclusive view of the nation’s early, robust view of
religious pluralism.

Although Jefferson did not leave any notes on his immediate reaction to the
Qur’an, he did criticize Islam as “stifling free enquiry” in his early
political debates in Virginia, a charge he also leveled against Catholicism. He
thought both religions fused religion and the state at a time he wished to
separate them in his commonwealth.

Despite his criticism of Islam, Jefferson supported the rights of its
adherents. Evidence exists that Jefferson had been thinking privately about
Muslim inclusion in his new country since 1776. A few months after penning the
Declaration of Independence, he returned to Virginia to draft legislation about
religion for his native state, writing in his private notes a paraphrase of the
English philosopher John Locke’s 1689 “Letter on Toleration”:

“[he] says neither Pagan nor Mahometan [Muslim] nor Jew ought to be excluded
from the civil rights of the commonwealth because of his religion.”

The precedents Jefferson copied from Locke echo strongly in his Virginia
Statute for Religious Freedom, which proclaims:

“(O)ur civil rights have no dependence on our religious opinions.”

The statute, drafted in 1777, which became law in 1786, inspired the
Constitution’s “no religious test” clause and the First Amendment.
Jefferson’s pluralistic vision

Was Jefferson thinking about Muslims when he drafted his famed Virginia
legislation?

Indeed, we find evidence for this in the Founding Father’s 1821 autobiography,
where he happily recorded that a final attempt to add the words “Jesus Christ”
to the preamble of his legislation failed. And this failure led Jefferson to
affirm that he had intended the application of the Statute to be “universal.”

By this he meant that religious liberty and political equality would not be
exclusively Christian. For Jefferson asserted in his autobiography that his
original legislative intent had been “to comprehend, within the mantle of its
protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahometan [Muslim], the
Hindoo, and Infidel of every denomination.”

By defining Muslims as future citizens in the 18th century, in conjunction with
a resident Jewish minority, Jefferson expanded his “universal” legislative
scope to include every one of every faith.

Ideas about the nation’s religiously plural character were tested also in
Jefferson’s presidential foreign policy with the Islamic powers of North
Africa. President Jefferson welcomed the first Muslim ambassador, who hailed
from Tunis, to the White House in 1805. Because it was Ramadan, the president
moved the state dinner from 3:30 p.m. to be “precisely at sunset,” a
recognition of the Tunisian ambassador’s religious beliefs, if not quite
America’s first official celebration of Ramadan.

A White House tradition

Muslims once again provide a litmus test for the civil rights of all U.S.
believers. Even though this administration seems to have chosen not to continue
the American political tradition of celebrating Ramadan at the White House, it
is still a moment to remember that Islam has long been practiced in America.

Its adherents remain a pivotal part of our founding history. The very presence
of Muslims in America, as American citizens, remains unacknowledged by the
Trump administration, both in its speech in Saudi Arabia to “the Muslim world”
and the president’s minimal statement marking Ramadan this month.

The ConversationToday, Muslims are fellow citizens, and their legal rights
represent an American founding ideal increasingly besieged by fearmongering,
precedents at odds with the best of our ideals of universal religious freedom.

University of Texas at Austin

[PoliticalForum] Re: [grendelreport] ICE Raids Dozens of Convenience Stores in MASSIVE Move… But Look What the Media's hiding ...

2017-06-15 Thread plainolamerican

A year-long investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative
Journalists shows that tobacco company officials at BAT, Philip Morris, and
R.J. Reynolds have worked closely with companies and individuals directly
connected to organized crime in Hong Kong, Canada, Colombia, Italy, and the
United States. In fact, one Italian government report obtained by the
Center states that Philip Morris and R.J. Reynolds licensed agents in
Switzerland were high-level criminals who ran a vast smuggling operation
into Italy in the 1980s that was directly linked to the Sicilian Mafia.
Corporate documents, court records, and internal government reports — some
going back to the 1970s — also show that BAT, Philip Morris, and R.J.
Reynolds have orchestrated smuggling networks variously in Canada,
Colombia, China, Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the
United States as a major part of their marketing strategy to increase
profits. The corporate documents refer to this black market business as
"duty not paid," "parallel" markets, "general trade," or "transit." But
these same documents often clearly delineate between this aspect of the
business and legal trade. For example, one BAT official, in a 1989 letter
to associates in Taiwan, said, "With regard to the definition of transit
, it is
essentially the illegal import of brands from Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan,
etc., upon which no duty has been paid."

The companies have sought to undercut rising government taxes, which
studies show are the main reason most smokers quit, as well as to gain
market share on their competitors or on government-controlled tobacco
monopolies by offering competitively priced popular international brands on
the black market. The result has been tax evasion on a global scale that
has greatly depleted government treasuries, especially in Third World
countries. Cigarette smuggling has also fostered international crime and
money laundering and alarmed growing numbers of law enforcement officials
worldwide. Attracted by huge profits, quick turnovers, a captive market,
and relatively light penalties if caught, organized crime now controls
large sectors of the smuggling.

"Organized criminals, who have traditionally been involved in smuggling
illicit narcotics, are suddenly realizing that tobacco is a good thing to
get into, as you make just as much money, and it's perhaps not quite as
anti-social," Douglas Tweddle, the outgoing director for compliance and
facilitation at the World Customs Organization in Brussels, told the
Center. "The public generally aren't against you if you're selling smuggled
cigarettes; in fact, they rather appreciate you. And if you get caught, in
virtually all countries, the penalties for smuggling tobacco are a great
deal less than smuggling heroin or cocaine." In the United States,
cigarette imports have risen so dramatically that investigators are looking
into whether the country is being used as a way station in the global
smuggling trade. "Profits from cigarette smuggling rival those of narcotic
trafficking," then-U.S. Customs Commissioner Raymond Kelly told Congress
last year. "The United States plays an important role as a source and
transshipment country."

The investigation by the Center's International Consortium of Investigative
Journalists is based on a review of thousands of pages of corporate and
government documents and dozens of interviews with law enforcement
officials, smugglers, and other sources worldwide. It indicates that
tobacco smuggling is increasingly dominated — often with the knowledge and
consent of the tobacco companies — by a handful of criminal organizations
that in some cases have links to organized crime. The Italian Mafia in
Western Europe, East European gangs, Triads in Asia, drug cartels in
Colombia, and motorcycle gangs and the American mafia in North America all
have become entrenched in the game. Licensed distributors for the
manufacturers feed these organized crime syndicates billions of cigarettes
worldwide, often with corporate knowledge. "A primary driving force behind
the proliferation of cigarette smuggling in both Colombia and Europe is the
need of narcotics traffickers, Colombian, Russian, and others, to launder
enormous amounts of money that can no longer be laundered through banks,"
said one recent court filing in a cigarette smuggling case.
The black market trade

It's estimated that about one in every three cigarettes exported worldwide
is sold on the black market. This enormous business is operated through a
web of offshore companies and banking institutions that often employ the
same routes and distributors. Russian and Italian mafia use Cyprus and
Montenegro. The drug cartels and U.S. mafia use Aruba and Panama. The same
names turn up in smuggling networks into Colombia, Canada, and Europe. In
Southeast Asia, the same distributors

The FBI investigation into Israeli espionage agents in the Pentagon is part
of a major struggle between prominent Zionists in the Pentagon and the US
security apparatus. Ever since the Bush regime came to power there has been
a fierce political and organizational war between the Pentagon Zionists and
their militarist collaborators, on the one hand, and the professional
military and intelligence apparatus, on the other. This conflict has
manifested itself in a series of major issues including the war in the
Middle East, the rational for war, the relationship between Israel and the
US, the strategy for empire, as well as tactical issues like the size of
military force needed for colonial wars and the nature of colonial
occupation. From 9/11/2001 to the invasion of Iraq, the Pentagon Zionists
and the civilian militarists had the upper hand: they marginalized the CIA
and established their own intelligence services to “cook the data”, they
pushed through the doctrine of sequential wars, beginning with Afghanistan
and Iraq and projecting wars with Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and
other Muslim countries. The Pentagon Zionists increased Israel’s power in
the Middle East and promoted its expansionist colonization of Palestine, at
the expense of US soldiers, budget busting expenditures and CIA objections.

The US military and security apparatus has retaliated. First by debunking
Zionist lies about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, then by exposing the
role of Zionist client Ahmed Chalabi as a double agent for Iran, followed
by a two-year investigation of Pentagon Zionists passing documents to
Israeli military intelligence and the secret police, the Mossad.

More is at stake than a turf war between the ‘Israel First’ Pentagon crowd
and their opponents in the US military, diplomatic corp and intelligence
agencies. The fundamental issue is the freedom of the US people to decide
or at least influence their political leaders and their appointees without
being subject to the manipulation and control by a foreign government
(Israel) and their highly placed agents in positions of power.

Israel has for decades subverted US foreign policy to serve its interests
through the organized power of major Jewish organizations in the US. What
is new in the current Pentagon spy case is that rather than pressuring from
the outside to secure favorable policies for Israel, the Israel loyalists
are in top positions within the government making strategic decisions about
US global policy and providing their Israeli handlers with secret documents
pertaining to top level discussions in the White House on questions of war
and peace. Today the politics of Pentagon and AIPAC ( American Israel
Public Affairs Committee ) espionage is especially dangerous because what
is at stake is a new US and/or Israeli war on Iran which will ignite the
entire Middle East.

The move to high-level spying by top Zionist policy-makers like Douglas
Feith, Elliott Abrams, Paul Wolfowitz and others in the Bush Administration
is the culmination of a long series of strategic policies promoted by AIPAC
designed to enhance Israeli expansionist goals in the Middle East.

Wolfowitz, Feith, Abrams, Perle, Rubin et al were the most zealous
promoters of the war against Iraq. They worked closely with other Zionist
ideologues like Bush speechwriter David Frum to promote the notion of “axes
of evil”, to engage in a sequence of wars against Muslim regimes hostile to
Israeli colonial policy in Palestine and beyond. Wolfowitz, Feith set up
the parallel ‘intelligence’ agency (the Office of Special Planning) run by
fellow Zionist Abram Shulsky using Chalabi to provide phony data on Iraq to
precipitate that war. An army of ‘Israel First’ academic and journalist
ideologues wrote, spoke and acted to justify the US attack on Iraq as the
first part of a regional war to destroy any and all regimes critical of
Israeli expansionism. Cohen, Rubin, Kristol, Foxman, Ledeen and many others
provided “expert” propaganda on why US soldiers should kill and be killed
for Greater Israel. Almost daily meetings and consultations took place
between the top Zionists officials and the Israeli military and
intelligence leaders in the offices of Feith and other Zionists. The
Pentagon offices of Feith and Wolfowitz appeared to be an upscale bordello
for high ranking Israeli officials. Judging from the subsequent policies it
is clear that Pentagon Zionists took their cues from their Israeli
counterparts Israel was given greater funding, unlimited access to US
policy makers and information pertaining to US policy in the Middle East.
Meantime US intelligence and military officials were marginalized, their
objections to Israeli positions blown away, their very presence seen as
obstacles to realizing Sharon’s vision of a Greater Israeli sharing (?)
domination over the Middle East.

Rule of the Jewish Kehillah Grips New York

Are the Jews organized? Do they consciously pursue a program which on one
side is pro-Semitic and on the other anti-Gentile? How can a group so
numerically inferior wield so large an influence upon the majority of the
world?

These are questions which have been asked and which can be answered. The
clan solidarity of the Jew, the ramifications of his organizations, the
specific purpose which he has in view, are themes upon which there is any
amount of “say so,” but very little authoritative statement. It may
therefore be useful and informing to study one or two of the more important
Jewish organizations in the United States.

There are Jewish lodges, unions and societies whose names are well known to
the public, and which seem to be the counterpart of similar groups among
the non-Jewish population, but those are not the groups upon which to focus
attention. Within and behind them is the central group, the inner
government, whose ruling is law, and whose act is the official expression
of Jewish purpose.

Two organizations, both of which are as notable for their concealment as
for their power, are the New York Kehillah and the American Jewish
Committee. By concealment is meant the fact that they exist in such
important numbers and touch vitally so many points of American life,
without their presence being suspected.

If a vote of New York could be taken today it is doubtful if one per cent
of the non-Jewish population could say that it had ever heard of the New
York Kehillah, yet the Kehillah is the most potent factor in the political
life of New York today. It has managed to exist and mold and remold the
life of New York, and very few people are the wiser. If the Kehillah is
mentioned in the press, it is most vaguely, and the impression is, when
there is any impression at all, that it is a Jewish social organization
like all the rest.

The Kehillah of New York is of importance to Americans everywhere because
of two facts: it not only offers a real and complete instance of a
government within a government in the midst of America’s largest city, but
it also constitutes through its executive committee District XII of the
American Jewish Committee, through which pro-Jewish and anti-Gentile
propaganda is operated and Jewish pressure brought to bear against certain
American ideas. That is to say, the Jewish government of New York
constitutes the essential part of the Jewish government of the United
States.

Both of these societies began at about the same time. The records of the
Kehillah state that the immediate occasion of its organization was to make
a protest against the statement by General Bingham, then police
commissioner of the City of New York, that 50 per cent of the crime of the
metropolis was committed by Jews. There had been a government investigation
into the “White Slave Traffic,” the result of which was a direct set of
public opinion into channels uncomplimentary to the Jewish name, and a
defensive movement was begun. There is no intention to rake up past
scandals, unless it shall become necessary; it is enough to say here that,
very soon afterward, General Bingham disappeared from public life, and a
national magazine of power and influence which had embarked on a series of
articles setting forth the government’s findings in the White Slave
investigation was forced to discontinue after the printing of the first
article. This was in the year 1908. The American Jewish Committee, to whose
influence the Kehillah really owes its existence, came into being in 1906.

The word “Kehillah” has the same meaning as “Kahal,” which signifies
“community,” “assembly” or government. It represents the Jewish form of
government in the dispersion. That is to say, since destiny has made the
Jews wanderers of the earth, they have organized their own government so
that it might function regardless of the governments which the so-called
“Gentiles” have set up. In the Babylonian captivity, in Eastern Europe
today, the Kahal is the power and protectorate to which the faithful Jew
looks for government and justice. The Peace Conference established the
Kahal in Poland and Rumania. The Kahal itself is establishing its courts in
the city of New York. The Kahal issues laws, judges legal cases, issues
divorces—the Jews who appeal thereto preferring Jewish justice to the
justice of the courts of the land. It is, of course, an agreement among
themselves to be so governed; just as citizenship in the United States
assumes an agreement to be governed by institutions provided for that
purpose.

The New York Kehillah is the largest and most powerful union of Jews in the
world. The center of Jewish world power has been transferred to that city.
That is the meaning

Lawmakers in America are battling to overturn some of the country's most
archaic laws, which stipulate that children as young as 12 can be married.

In the state of Virginia, it is officially still legal for girls as young
as 12 or 13 to be brought to a courthouse with evidence of a pregnancy and
wed, a practice that has come under increased scrutiny thanks to the
Virginia Senator Jill Vogel R-Fauquier.

Legislation she introduced, which is now moving through the Virginia
General Assembly, seeks to raise the minimum age for marriage to 16 to
bring it in line with other states - and similar moves are under way in
Maryland and New York, where 3,853 minors were married between 2000 and
2010, according to State Health Department data published in the New York
Times

.

In Virginia itself, according to state health statistics, more than 4,500
minors were married between 2000 and 2013, including about 220 who were 15
or younger.

And a separate Statista chart plotting the
minimum legal age of marriage for girls worldwide reveals that the US is
one of the lowest on record, with several places - including Massachusetts
- allowing girls as young as 12 to be wed with the consent of a judge.

It is matched only by Saudi Arabia and Yemen, where age of consent for
marriage ranges between nine and 13 years old.

“It’s rarely the case that the 13-year-old is marrying a 17-year-old,” Ms
Vogel told Washington Top News
.

”It’s more often the case that it is a child marrying somebody decades
older than they are."

Ms Vogel pointed out that often, young women who go on to be abused in
early marriages are not old enough to go to court to get a protection order
- and aren't even old enough to drive.

She said officials should be looking out for what's in the child's best
interests - not handing out marriage licenses.

“Someone should be asking the question, ‘Well if this 13-year-old is
pregnant, isn’t that evidence of statutory rape?’" Ms Vogel said. "Is that
not a crime? They are truly victims in every way."

Child Bride social experiment in New York City

Senate Bill 415, which passed in the Senate last month, has passed in a
House sub-committee and in a full-committee and is due to face a vote.

The bill would see those between 16 and 18 having to petition courts for a
marriage license - at which point a judge would need to determine whether
or not they were mature enough or were being coerced.

The judge could also grant emancipation as part of the petition, giving
teens similar rights to adults under the law.

But Ms Vogel said she was surprised at what she found when researching
marriage laws in other states, which she said acted as a "veil" to sex
abusers to protect themselves from prosecution.

The Child-Rape Assembly Line

CHRISTOPHER KETCHAM

Rabbi Nuchem Rosenberg—who is 63 with a long, graying beard—recently sat
down with me to explain what he described as a "child-rape assembly line"
among sects of fundamentalist Jews.

Rabbi Nuchem Rosenberg—who is 63 with a long, graying beard—recently sat
down with me to explain what he described as a "child-rape assembly line"
among sects of fundamentalist Jews. He cleared his throat. "I'm going to be
graphic," he said.

A member of Brooklyn's Satmar Hasidim fundamentalist branch of Orthodox
Judaism, Nuchem designs and repairs mikvahs in compliance with Torah Law.
The mikvah is a ritual Jewish bathhouse used for purification. Devout Jews
are required to cleanse themselves in the mikvah on a variety of occasions:
Women must visit following menstruation, and men have to make an appearance
before the High Holidays, such as Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Many of the
devout also purify themselves before and after the act of sex and before
the Sabbath.

On a visit to Jerusalem in 2005, Rabbi Rosenberg entered into a mikvah in
one of the holiest neighborhoods in the city, Mea She'arim. "I opened a
door that entered into a schvitz," he told me. "Vapors everywhere, I can
barely see. My eyes adjust, and I see an old man, my age, long white beard,
a holy-looking man, sitting in the vapors. On his lap, facing away from
him, is a boy, maybe seven years old. And the old man is having anal sex
with this boy."

Rabbi Rosenberg paused, gathered himself, and went on: "This boy was
speared on the man like an animal, like a pig, and the boy was saying
nothing. But on his face—fear. The old man [looked at me]* without* any
fear, as if this was common practice. He didn't stop. I was so angry, I
confronted him. He removed the boy from his penis, and I took the boy
aside. I told this man, 'It's a sin before God, a *mishkovzucher*. What are
you doing to this boy's soul? You're destroying this boy!' He had a sponge
on a stick to clean his back, and he hit me across the face with it. 'How
dare you interrupt me!' he said. I had heard of these things for a long
time, but now I had seen."

The child sex abuse crisis in ultra-Orthodox Judaism, like that in the
Catholic Church, has produced its share of shocking headlines in recent
years. In New York, and in the prominent Orthodox communities of Israel and
London, allegations of child molestation and rape have been rampant. The
alleged abusers are schoolteachers, rabbis, fathers, uncles—figures of male
authority. The victims, like those of Catholic priests, are mostly boys.
Rabbi Rosenberg believes around half of young males in Brooklyn's Hasidic
community—the largest in the United States and one of the largest in the
world—have been victims of sexual assault perpetrated by their elders. Ben
Hirsch, director of Survivors for Justice, a Brooklyn organization that
advocates for Orthodox sex abuse victims, thinks the real number is higher.
"From anecdotal evidence, we're looking at over 50 percent. It has almost
become a rite of passage."

Ultra-Orthodox Jews who speak out about these abuses are ruined and
condemned to exile by their own community. Dr. Amy Neustein, a
nonfundamentalist Orthodox Jewish sociologist and editor of *Tempest in the
Temple: Jewish Communities and Child Sex Scandals*, told me the story of a
series of Hasidic mothers in Brooklyn she got to know who complained that
their children were being preyed on by their husbands.

In these cases, the accused men "very quickly and effectively engage the
rabbis, the Orthodox politicians, and powerful Orthodox rabbis who donate
handsomely to political clubs." The goal, she told me, is "to excise the
mother from the child's life." Rabbinical courts cast the mothers aside,
and the effects are permanent. The mother is "amputated." One woman
befriended by Dr. Neustein, a music student at a college outside New York,
lost contact with all six of her children, including an infant she was
breastfeeding at the time of their separation.

*Rabbi Rosenberg inspects a ritual purification bath, known as a mikvah. In
2005, he witnessed a young boy being raped inside a similar bath.*

Seven years ago, Rabbi Rosenberg started blogging about sex abuse in his
community and opened a New York City hotline to field sex abuse complaints.
He has posted appeals on YouTube, appeared on CNN, and given speeches
across the US, Canada, Israel, and Australia. Today, he is the lone
whistleblower among the Satmar. For this he is reviled, slandered, hated,
feared. He receives death threats on a regular basis. In Yiddish and Hebrew
newspapers, advertisements taken out by the self-described "great rabbis
and rabbinical judges of the city of New York" have denounced him as "a

[PoliticalForum] Trump Effect: Jewish and Muslim Organizations Form New Alliance

2017-02-14 Thread plainolamerican
A new Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council will work to protect religious
minorities' rights as well as other 'issues of common concern.'

in Storrs against the election of Trump as president, November 9, 2016. Pat
Eaton-Robb, AP

Less than a week after an election that left many minority and religious
groups in the United States feeling disenfranchised, two important
organizations – one Jewish and the other Muslim – announced an unusual
alliance on Monday.
The American Jewish Committee and the Islamic Society of North America have
teamed up to form a new national group of leading Jewish and Muslim
Americans: The Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council.
In a press release, the AJC said that the new group “brings together
recognized business, political and religious leaders in the Jewish and
Muslim American communities to jointly advocate on issues of common
concern.”

The co-chairs of the 31-member council are Stanley Bergman, CEO of the
Henry Schein healthcare company, and Farooq Kathwari, president and CEO of
the Ethan Allen furniture company.
Among its initial “action items,” the press release said, will be to
“develop a coordinated strategy to address anti-Muslim bigotry and
anti-Semitism in the U.S.” and to “protect and expand the rights of
religious minorities” in the country.
“Our two communities share so much in common and should find ways, where
possible, to work together for the benefit of the entire country,” said
Bergman.
The council members include religious and lay leaders from both
communities. Among the most prominent names on the membership list is
Joseph Lieberman, the former senator who was the Democratic vice
presidential candidate in 2000.

Re: [PoliticalForum] Ten Myths About Immigration

In summary, an estimated 11.4 million unauthorized immigrants were living
in the United States in January 2012 compared to 11.5 million in January
2011. These results suggest little to no change in the unauthorized
immigrant population from 2011 to 2012. Of all unauthorized immigrants
living in the United States in 2012, 42 percent entered in 2000 or later.
Entrants since 2005 accounted for 14 percent of the total. Fifty-nine
percent of unauthorized immigrants in 2012 were from Mexico.

Who are the immigrants in the United States illegally? Where do they come
from? In which states do they settle? What jobs do they hold?

As of 2012, the population of immigrants in the United States illegally is
estimated to be approximately 11.43 million, roughly 3.7% of the entire US
population. 59% of the immigrants in the country illegally are from Mexico,
and 25% of all immigrants in the country illegally reside in California.
53% of the immigrants in the United States illegally are male. In 2008,
approximately 31% of workers in the roofing industry and 27% of
maids/housekeepers were immigrants living in the country illegally.

The demographic statistics below are based on estimates created by the US
Department of Homeland Security, the US Immigration and Naturalization
Service, and the Pew Hispanic Research Center.

7 Nations on Neocon Hit List
*DECEMBER 09, 2011 * ADMIN 1 COMMENT
<https://americanfreepress.net/7-nations-on-neocon-hit-list/#comments>

*By James P. Tucker Jr.*

Some 10 years before the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and
Washington, D.C., top neoconservatives in the Pentagon orchestrated a major
“policy coup” to start wars with multiple Middle Eastern countries and
secure total domination of the Middle East. That’s according to a top
former United States military officer.

In a speech in San Francisco, top General Wesley Kanne Clark, Sr.
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wesley_Clark> recounted a memo drafted by
former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s office in the wake of 9-11 that
was brought to his attention by a top Pentagon official. The neocons’ plot, he
was told <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RC1Mepk_Sw>, was “to attack and
destroy the governments in seven countries in five years—we’re going to
start with Iraq, and then we’re going to move to Syria, Lebanon, Libya,
Somalia, Sudan and Iran.” Clark said the neocons “wanted us to destabilize
the Middle East, turn it upside down, make it under our control.”

While 9-11 provided an excuse for broadening the wars, neocons were
plotting a decade earlier for regime changes across the Middle East.

Clark cites a 1991 conversation with Defense official Paul Wolfowitz, who
said <http://www.salon.com/2011/11/26/wes_clark_and_the_neocon_dream>: “One
thing we did learn [from the Iraq wars] is that we can use our military in
the region, in the Middle East, and the Soviets won’t stop us. . . . And
we’ve got about five or 10 years to clean up those old Soviet
regimes—Syria, Iran, Iraq—before the next great superpower comes on to
challenge us.”

Shocked, Clark responded to Wolfowitz at the time by asking: “The purpose
of the military is to start wars and change governments? It’s not to deter
conflicts?”

I think it's the deluge of immigrants, both legal and illegal, pouring into
Western Nations.
---

The *Immigration Act of 1990* (Pub.L. 101–649
, 104 Stat.
 4978
, enacted November 29, 1990) was
signed into law by George H. W. Bush
 on November 29, 1990.[1]
 It was
first introduced by Senator Ted Kennedy
in 1989. It was a national
reform of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965
. It
increased total, overall immigration to allow 700,000 immigrants to come to
the U.S. per year for the fiscal years '92–'94, and 675,000 per year after
that.[2]

 It
provided family based immigration visa, created five distinct employment
based visas, categorized by occupation, as well as the diversity visa
program which created a lottery to admit immigrants from "low admittance"
countries [3]

 or
countries where their citizenry was underrepresented in the U.S.

Besides these immigrant visas there was also changes in nonimmigrant visas
like the H-1B visa for highly
skilled workers. There were also cutbacks in the allotment of visas
available for extended relatives.[4]

 The Temporary protected status
 visa was also
created where Congress established a procedure by which the Attorney
General may provide TPS to immigrants in the United States who are
temporarily unable to safely return to their home country because of
ongoing armed conflict, an environmental disaster, or other extraordinary
and temporary condition. It specifically benefited citizens of El Salvador
.[2]

Other aspects of the act include lifting the English testing process for
naturalization which was imposed in the Naturalization Act of 1906
 [5]

and
eliminating the exclusion of homosexuals under the medically unsound
classification of "sexual deviant" that was present in the passage of the
1965 Act.[6]

 George
H. W. Bush is quoted in saying "I am also pleased to note that this Act
facilitates immigration not just in numerical terms, but also in terms of
basic entry rights of those beyond our borders."[7]
 The
administration, therefore, saw the importance of this amendment in
extending a welcoming to those previously excluded nations/individuals.

and only emerging when immigration officials told him he was no longer a
priority for deportation. (Associated Press)

President-elect Donald Trump is vowing to block federal funding to
Sanctuary cities, but the incoming commander-in-chief may find it tougher
to take on another powerful protecter of illegal immigrants -- sanctuary
churches.

Hundreds of houses of worship around the nation have pledged to provide
safe harbor to illegal immigrants facing deportation, as have cities such
as Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York City. While Trump may
relish a policy and funding fight with the leaders of Democratic
strongholds, imposing his administration’s will on churches could be
another matter.

“There is a long tradition in American law enforcement of not breaking into
churches in order to arrest someone unless the person is wanted for an act
of violence,” Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano told
FoxNews.com. “In order for the police or for Immigration and Customs
Enforcement to enter a church against the will of a priest or minister who
is running the church, they need an arrest warrant for a specific human
being –short of that, they’re not going to go in there.”

In New York City alone, there are 11 congregations that offer sanctuary for
illegal immigrants, and according to the Rev. Donna Schaper, senior
minister of Judson Memorial Church, more could follow.

“There has been a tremendous increase in interest since the election,”
Schaper told FoxNews.com. “The newly elected president is threatening to
deport many of them and they want to be safe—churches have a moral mandate
to help people in a way that is different than cities in general.”

Schaper is a founder of New Sanctuary Movement New York, an interfaith
network of congregations that help to provide spiritual, financial,
emotional and legal support to illegal immigrants. In some cases, those
under the church’s protection move into the building and live there
indefinitely.

Earlier this month, Javier Flores, a Mexican and father of three who has
been deported multiple times, appeared at a news conference with clergy
from Philadelphia’s Arch Street United Methodist Church, where he has been
offered sanctuary.

“Today and every day, if Javier and his family choose to stay with us, they
will have a home with us,” the Rev. Robin Hynicka told Religion News Service

.

Since Trump’s Nov. 8 triumph over Hillary Clinton, the New Sanctuary
Movement Philadelphia has been inundated with congregations clamoring to
sign up, said Executive Director Peter Pedemonti.

“In Philadelphia, there is a continued wave of support for faith
communities to stand up and say that deporting people and separating
families is a violation of our faith values,” Pedemonti told FoxNews.com.
“These policies call us to feed on the worst of humanities –our fears and
divisions, and our role, as a faith community is to bring us to our best
selves.”

Some advocates for illegal immigrants say it was President Obama’s
aggressive deportation policies that first boosted the sanctuary church
movement.

“We have already seen the deportation machine at work with over 2.5 million
people deported under the Obama Administration,” Church World Service
National Grassroots Coordinator the Rev. Noel Andersen said. “The keys to
that machine are now being handed over to an Administration that has shown
in their campaign rhetoric vitriolic language, and I think congregations

Jews Demand Open Borders for USA, But Use DNA to Keep Israel Racially Pure
DECEMBER 20, 2013

Jews in America are 100 percent united in demanding “open borders” and
“immigration reform”—but at the same time hypocritically support Israel
which now uses DNA tests on potential immigrants in order to keep the
Jewish state racially pure.

Just this past weekend, nearly 1,300 rabbis and a number of cantors from
all streams of American Jewry joined together to call on the US Congress to
pass comprehensive immigration reform.

In a letter sent to the Congress, which they also published on their website
,
the rabbis said that immigration reform was “in keeping” with the “Jewish
High Holy Days” demand of “the spirit of self-examination as individuals
and as a society.”

The letter was signed by leading clergy of the Reform, Conservative,
Orthodox, and Reconstructionist movements and called for “common sense
immigration reform” to reflect a “shared commitment to a path to
citizenship, improved family reunification policies, humane and effective
border security, sensible worker visa policies, and avenues for refugees
and asylum seekers.”

The letter went on to say that Jewish history “coupled with the most-often
repeated Biblical commandment to love the stranger inspires our advocacy
for immigration reform…”

Communist salute during sit-in pro-immigration protest in D.C. this past

Communist salute during sit-in pro-immigration protest in D.C. this past
week.

This is not the only such statement by the organized Jewish community in
America. Just this past week, the director of Washington operations for the
National Council of Jewish Women, Sammie Moshenberg , was among more than
100 activists arrested for a “sit-in” pro-immigration protest at the US
Capitol building.

The American Jewish Congress (AJC), the single largest Jewish organization
in America, has a special advocacy group set up to promote “immigration
reform.”

According to the AJC website devoted specially to promoting nonwhite
immigration into America
,

that Jewish organization boasts that it “promotes a fair and just

“National conflict over immigration undermines America’s strength and our
country’s commitment to democratic and humanitarian values. With our shared
immigrant experience, the Jewish people understand that upholding the
rights of immigrants is vital to a strong America,” the AJC says.

An article in the Jewish newspaper, the *Daily Forward,* announced that “Jews
Unite Behind Push for Immigration Reform
”

and significantly added that “Ethics and Self-Interest Drive Unusual
Nationwide Effort.”

The *Daily Forward* article says that those “leading an active push for the
[immigration reform] bill, which will offer a path to citizenship for some
of the nation’s 11 million undocumented aliens, include the Hebrew
Immigrant Aid Society, the American Jewish Committee, the Anti-Defamation
League, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, Bend the Arc and the
National Council of Jewish Women.

“The Senate vote—and the even harder struggle that will follow in the
Republican-controlled House—represents the fulfillment of a sustained
campaign by the Jewish community for immigration reform, which has built
momentum over the past decade.

Quoting the president and CEO of an organization called the Hebrew
Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS)—which used to promote Jewish immigration, but
now promotes all nonwhite immigration into America, Mark Hetfield, the *Daily
Forward* said Jews promoted immigration because it was in their ‘strategic
interest.’

“It’s the ethical thing to do,” said HIAS president and CEO, of the
community’s immigration reform activism. But he quickly added, “It’s in our
strategic interest.”

However, in Israel—which all of these Jewish organizations and individuals
quoted above support fanatically—an immigration policy which is the exact
opposite is rigorously enforced.

Re: [PoliticalForum] Re: Abolish the Department of Education

2017-01-22 Thread plainolamerican
After 3 years in Edinburgh, Hodgskin returned to London in 1823 as a
journalist. Influenced by Jean-Baptiste Say
 amongst others, his views
on political economy had
diverged from the utilitarian
orthodoxy
of David Ricardo and James
Mill . During the controversy
around the parliamentary acts to first legalise and then ban worker's
"combinations", Mill and Ricardo had been in favour of the ban whereas
Hodgskin supported the right to organise. He used Ricardo's labour theory
of value to denounce
the appropriation of the most part of value produced by the labour of
industrial workers as illegitimate. He propounded these views in a series
of lectures at the London Mechanics Institute
 (later renamed
Birkbeck,
University of London
) where he
debated with William Thompson
, with whom he
shared the critique of capitalist expropriation but not the proposed
remedy. The results of these lectures and debates he published as "Labour
Defended against the Claims of Capital" (1825), "Popular Political Economy"
(1827) and "Natural and Artificial Right of Property Contrasted" (1832).
The title of "Labour Defended" was a jibe at James Mill
's earlier "Commerce Defended"
and signalled his opposition to the latter taking sides with the
capitalists against their employees.

besides ... devoSS and her ilk are fighting several fronts ... separation

*Paul Joseph Watson* is a British
alt-right conspiracy
 wacko and YouTube
 vlogger
who currently lives in the London
 district of Battersea.[1]

He is known for both his own YouTube channel,[2]
 and for the
numerous articles he writes for Alex Jones
 on *Infowars*.[3]
 Disconcertingly,
as of January 2017, his YouTube channel boasts just over 685,000
subscribers and has had 155,000,000 views in total.[4]

He has been trying to (and largely succeeding at) converting fringe
conspiracy theories into mainstream ideas for years before Donald Trump
 started doing it. Often, his
means of doing this is with misleading clickbait
-y videos with titles like "The
Truth About…" These videos never actually contain the truth about the
things they are about; instead, they contain a mixture of misleading
claims, baseless speculation, conspiracy theories, and outright lies.

Naturally, he loves Trump;[1]
 though he
prefers attacking Trump's opponents to defending him (though he has done
both). He is also one of the big pushers of the debunked hoax about Hillary
Clinton having brain
 damage.[5]

His favorite topics, in addition to Trump and Clinton, include favorite
conspiracy theory whipping boys: the Boston Marathon bombing
, Sandy Hook
, Black Lives Matter
 (which he hates),[6]
 and, of
course, good old-fashioned Islamophobia
.[7]

He also endorses the MGTOW movement,
advocating "rejecting toxic women who
have been brainwashed by cultural
marxism " and recommending
instead that all male viewers (no girls allowed!) visit *Return of Kings
* and partake in the gospel
according to Roosh V .[8]

Watson published an article about an explosive leaked video of Trump
 saying racist
 and sexist
epithets recorded by a secret camera.
The problem with the story? It was made up by a Scottish marketing
professional. How did Watson get the story? The Scotsman messaged Watson
the story on Twitter as a prank. Without any effort to fact-check the story
or even verify the identity of the leaker, Watson hurriedly typed up the
story in the hopes of getting more clicks. Adding insult to injury, the
article remained up for days after the prankster revealed his game, which
shows Watson is the pinnacle of journalistic malpractice and fake news. [13]

Re: [PoliticalForum] Re: Abolish the Department of Education

2017-01-21 Thread plainolamerican
“In most Democratic administrations, the U.S.
Department of Education is a wholly owned subsidiary of the national
teachers unions. That’s not going to be the case if Betsy DeVos is going to
be the secretary of Education.”
<http://forward.com/news/202290/how-orthodox-agudah-and-wal-mart-money-united-to-b/>
How Orthodox Agudah and Wal-Mart Money United To Back School Vouchers
<http://forward.com/news/202290/how-orthodox-agudah-and-wal-mart-money-united-to-b/>Josh

Nathan-Kazis <http://forward.com/author/josh-nathan-kazis/>July 22, 2014

Since most public education policy in the United States is made by state
and local governments and school boards, the secretary of Education’s role
is somewhat constrained. But Orthodox advocates say that, from her post,
DeVos could make federal funding programs friendlier to the needs of
private and religious schools.

“We’re hoping that there can be programs at the federal level, particularly
in the form of tax credits and other kinds of things, that can also deliver
direct funding to nonpublic school families,” Diament said.

DeVos still must be confirmed by the Senate, which will happen sometime
after Trump’s inauguration in January.

DeVos, the billionaire sister of the controversial Iraq War-era private
army entrepreneur Erik Prince, has been a leader in the education reform
movement through her philanthropy and her leadership of advocacy
organizations. A supporter of voucher programs, which use public funds to
subsidize tuitions at private and religious schools, DeVos has pushed for
change in state legislatures across the country to improve prospects for
nonpublic education.

DeVos’s advocacy group, the American Federation for Children, also supports
scholarship tax credit programs, which provide special state tax breaks in
return for donations to private school scholarship funds.

Her interests align with Orthodox Jewish groups like the Orthodox Union and
Agudath Israel of America, which have fought alongside DeVos’s American
Federation for Children for tax-credit programs, which the Jewish groups
hope will make religious education more affordable for Jewish families.

For the most part, the Orthodox advocates say that they aren’t looking for
a big-ticket item, like a federal school voucher program, from DeVos if she
is confirmed to run the DOE. Instead, they’re hoping for something they’ve
been slowly working toward for decades: a federal education bureaucracy
that’s more open to supporting religious schools in a variety of ways.

“What I do hope, and I’m confident will happen, is that you’ll have a
Department of Education that is more private school-friendly,” said Agudath
Israel’s national director of state relations, A.D. Motzen.

Union leaders, meanwhile, are raising alarms about DeVos.

Randi Weingarten, the head of the American Federation of Teachers, called
DeVos
<http://www.aft.org/press-release/aft-president-randi-weingarten-nomination-betsy-devos-secretary-education#sthash.RBfFpyGa.dpuf>
 the
“most ideological, anti-public education nominee” since the position of
secretary of Education was created in 1979.

Weingarten, who is Jewish, also noted that DeVos had no classroom
experience. “The sum total of her involvement has been spending her
family’s wealth in an effort to dismantle public education in Michigan,”
Weingarten said. “Every American should be concerned that she would impose
her reckless and extreme ideology on the nation.”

Union advocates argue that DeVos and her allies seek to undermine the
public schools. They oppose voucher programs and charter schools, and see
DeVos as a leading donor behind the nationwide spread of both.

Some Jewish groups, too, have been critical of the selection of DeVos. In a
statement, the associate director of the Religious Action Center of Reform
Judaism, Barbara Weinstein, said the organization hoped that DeVos would
reject voucher programs, which, the RAC said, “[take] tax dollars from the
public school system and puts them towards private education.”

Still, it’s not just Orthodox schools that benefit when the Orthodox
advocates have their way. Liberal and community Jewish day schools, too,
benefit from tax credits and even from voucher programs pursued by the
Orthodox organizations.

In Florida, DeVos’s organization collaborated with the O.U. to defend a tax
credit program that benefits Jewish day schools. “They’ve been very
involved in protecting the program from attempts to challenge it,” said
Maury Litwack, the O.U.’s director of state political affairs. “Their
organization was instrumental in being a voice.”
