ARE JACK VAN IMPE AND OTHER BAPTISTS TURNING TO THE OCCULT?
If you've watched Jack Van Impe's program lately you know that he is
recently promoting a videotape about Nostradamus and other "seers"
predicting the end of the world on December 21, 2012. And now it seems
he thinks the rapture of the bride of Christ might be on that date.
But the Bible tells us we are not to consult with enchanters, witches,
observers of times (astrologers), consulters with familiar spirits,
wizards, or necromancers in Deuteronomy 18:9-14. These guys were all
astrologers of their day. I remember when Dr. Van Impe was telling us
he had figured out the rapture would be about the year 2000. His motto
used to be "Perhaps Today" but now it seems to be "Perhaps December
21, 2012." The Bible tells us no man will know the day or hour of the
second coming of Jesus Christ, not even Jesus Christ, but only God the
Father. Why does Jack Van Impe have this obsession with knowing the
day of the rapture? The Bible says it will come as a snare and come
when we think not. Maybe when Van Impe has convinced everyone the
rapture won't happen for several years it will happen now. We need to
get ready and stay ready. When King Saul backslid he couldn't hear
from the Holy Spirit and turned to the witch of Endor for guidance.
Because Van Impe and other Baptists reject the Biblical teaching of
the baptism of the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in other
tongues many of them are lately turning to Kirlian photography and
other occultic techniques for guidance, which is a sin. See
