If you don't like the way a port works, feel free to submit a patch that makes it better, without breaking it for others based on your personal biases... At the risk of restating the obvious, submit a patch that create a no-cups flavor, don't just torch out what you don't want in there. -

KDE4 doesn't need a no-cups flavor. It just needs to have the dependency on CUPS removed, and leave it up to the end user whether or not to install CUPS.   Isn't CUPS stand-alone?   What's all this crap you are COMPILING into everything else from CUPS, anyway, that we would need a special flavor
