No need to manually include , does that. This was probably done because -D_POSIX_C_SOURCE=200809L -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=700 would cause __BSD_VISIBLE to be undefined which in turn would prevent SIGWINCH from being defined. -D_XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED is needed, otherwise the compiler will warn about impl
