remove mail/lumail?
Hi. Is anyone using lumail or can we remove it? https://github.com/lumail/lumail is archived and https://lumail.org/ gives no clue about a "console-based e-mail client with Lua". This is the last user in tree of mail/gmime which I'd like to remove. Thanks. -- Antoine

I don't see what your proposal is -- is it to allow mlock in all pledged programs? That would be unreasonable. If firefox had proper and complete priv-seperation, which it does not, then this kind of "untrustworthy device interface plug-in interface" would be in a seperate process with some sort of limited IPC, and there would be a way to then not pledge that process. The more reasonable way is to delete the mlock call from that code, because mlock is being used FOR LAUGHABLY REALLY DUMB REASONS -- the library is trying to keep 'crypted data' in a process which is FULL of other crypted data, out of swap. In the meantime, swap is crypted on an increasing number of operating systems, or because physmem has increased, swap never happens. And of course, the process doing this is CHOCK-FULL of other crypted data, so the approach being taken is misguided. I have argued in the past that mlock() in our kernel should probably be a NOOP, return success all the time, and doing nothing. mlock calls have been deleted before. They seem to keep coming back.
