This is hack I sometimes use to control aucat/sndiod volume. IMHO it
could be useful until we get a better mixer option.
Examples:
List known volumes knobs and their values:
$ aucatctl
sox0=127
mplayer0=127
aucat0=127
master=127
Set master volume to 85 and mplayer volume to 100
$
