Hi all! It's good to be back after my US adventures - listening to

Hey Slim!
That's so cool that one of your family members heard you on the radio -
howzabout that?!? I really love your CD and have been listening to it
incessantly at home. It was so nice to meet you and hang out in Austin.

Wow... reading through that track listing brought back some very sweet
memories... I was lucky to see the Go-Betweens live several times
during the 80s... another one to add to the
must-buy-as-soon-as-credit-rating-is-restored list.

I'm impressed too, Slim, but I can top that... I went
to a funeral (of a young guy) where they played "I've
Been to Paradise But I've Never Been To Me". The part
about holding a baby in your arms and making love to
your man that night was particularly, um, poignant.

Another sad sort of a program today, paying tribute to David McComb
who passed away two days ago, a week before his 37th birthday. I
didnt know David very well, but admired him from afar, and remember
how much his music meant to me, especially his early work with the

you had a

Yeah, it was just one big drama, haha. Its good to be here, actually.

I'm interviewing Mark Linkous tomorrow night (gulp) and I'm wondering
whether I dare ask him about his 80s power pop band Dancing Hoods.
Does anyone know whether he's reluctant to talk about his previous
work? They don't rank a mention in any of the interviews I've seen.
thanks people

Today was my last on-air shift before the big SXSW odyssey. I raised
$500 for the station by offering to send postcards from Austin to
subscribers, which the listeners found strangely appealing. Lots of
requests. T'was fun!
