For those wishing to know: the book covers the world's first purpose-built prisoner of war camp at Norman Cross, just a few miles south of Peterborough. Whilst being a very readable book, it is also the only major study done of Norman Cross, and brings all sorts of materials together. Thomas Walker was a local antiquarian and was able to interview some of the old people who still remembered the site. Today it's just green fields and a plaque.

All the best,
David
Very hot and sunny England, although I'm told it will be cold and rainy soon
