An MX record is needed ONLY if there are other mail servers on the
local network.
For a single server, simply listing the domain in main.cf:
mydestination is sufficient.

I have a local network with postfix setup (going via gmail) to handle outgoing
mail through
a router. However, I want local users to mail each other (using dovecot) on the
local network without going through gmail all the time.
