I've done the first part of this - you can't drag-and-drop turning circles any more. See http://trac.openstreetmap.org/changeset/25270 Any preferences for how node vs waynode distinction should work? Should node always imply waynode (but not vice versa?) How about: Option 1: <waynode> Option 2: <point wayrequired="yes"> Presumably either way it would also imply that draganddrop="no". Incidentally, is there a particular reason that map_features uses point/line/area terminology, rather than node/way/area? I'd be happy to convert it, if not.
