It is odd. I did a clean install of 8.5 which didn't have any trouble rebooting, and I fired up Civilization 1 just to test. Seemed to work, but starting Civilization 1 by double-clicking a save game brought on a hard lock, which it also did under 8.6. Go figure. (Fwiw, I also somehow have
