8.1 USB options .. thanks guys!

2003-02-10 Thread JMCnetwork
I often wondered about 8.1's potential in early PowerMacs and even '040's. I suppose no '040 desktops could do USB :) The 6500's use of USB with 8.1 is truly refreshing. I have a friend that has a 6400 with 8.5.1, Ill definitely let him know about that option. Thanks for the insight, Scott!

USB peripheral options on OS 8.1

I remember the first iMacs shipped with 8.1, so some USB devices, like Apple's keyboards and mice definitely work. Anyone know or use other USB devices, like printers, scanners, etc? I want to see about downgrading a 1400c from 8.5.1 for speed and adding a USB PCMCIA card to it to say, use a

OS considerations for newly acquired 1400c

I recently acquired my first color powerbook: 1400c/133/64/1G/8.5.1. Any favorites or benefits in compatibility, speed and/or ram upgrading to 8.6 (a consultant I spoke with preferred 8.5.1 and 9.1+ due to less software bugs than 8.6) or maybe taking it down to 8.1? I run Photoshop6, AOL5
