Mac 2Ci master guru Steve Strahm once explained to me the reason he
wouldn't buy used RAM is that they can incur damage that doesn't show
up for some time from even a minor discharge of static electricity
when handled.
This, of course, didn't deter

Took one dimm module out and it got a little further along in the
boot process from the hard drive and even further from the external
CD, although both froze. Took a second module out and it boots fine.
In retrospect bad dimm might also explain some occasional minor
p
Seems like I remember this problem before being traced to a bad RAM
dimm ??? Have you tried the archives?
Why don't you pick up another internal CD drive. The old Mac units are
going for about $10.00 at the Dallas electronics flea market. RHB
