The first time i tried Hiro's suggestion it did not work, but what i had
done was change to Omniweb that was running at the time. I tried it
again but this time i started Safari up then used the cmd + tab and it

In OmniOutliner, paste with current style (option-shift-command-V). In
Word, paste special. In some other apps,
I'm sure this has been discussed in the past but I've never had problems
with PM before although I've been registered since PM 2..., I think.
PM has begun 'quitting unexpectedly' very, very often. This is new. When
I reopened with Option/Command keys held down to Compress Mail, address,
settings
my guess would be that the database is severly demaged.
I'd trash everything related to PM (besides the license file) and
download the current version (5.5fc1).
Then I'D use a backup of the last working message database and try to
convert that to the new 5.5 format. If that doesn't work, I'd try
