Database issues

Hi, My MacBook locked up ealier today and had to force a restart. PowerMail said it needed to reindex the mail. It got nearly to the end then froze up. I've tried a low-level rebuild, a database compact both of which failed. I can't copy the mail database, it gets to 1.04 GB of 1.64GB and
