Nope. This is Internet myth territory.
If you display email as HTML, someone can embed in the message an image
that is loaded via a URL request. That someone now knows that you
requested the image and can deduce that you probably viewed his message
as HTML.

It sounds like a problem with the remote server. Talk to your server
administrator, and see if they can find any clues in the server logs.

anyone else noticed that with snow leopard, attempts of displaying
attachments by pressing space results in crashing power mail? I'm
using pm6 and sl Build 10a432.

Lately, PowerMail has been giving me this error when sending a message:
