With Mavericks and PM 6.2.1, it depends on my workflow whether PowerMail shows the endless spinning beachball or not:
(1) When another application is open - I tested Safari and iTunes - and I open PM and try to retrieve e-mails, PM crashes. After closing the other app and PM and restarting PM, PM works fine. When I then open the other app again, PM continues to work without problems. (2) When no other application is open and I start PM and retrieve e-mails, no problem occurs. Hope this helps.
