---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: No PowerMail selection in iPhoto '08 From: "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Fri, 12 Oct 2007 14:27:42 -0700 Just updated to iPhoto '08 and found that unlike the other versions of iPhoto I have used over the past few years, I am now unable to select PowerMail from the mail preferences. They give you only Mac OS X Mail, Entourage, Eudora and AOL mail to attached photos to. Period. No ability to seek another application as the old iPhoto did. Now I have to export pictures into a folder and then attach. What a pain. Does anyone know how we can hack PowerMail into iPhoto '08? -Jaede ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: No PowerMail selection in iPhoto '08 From: "cheshirekat" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Fri, 12 Oct 2007 16:41:18 -0600 AFAIK, PowerMail has never been one of the iPhoto options without third party software. I can't recall the name of the software as I don't use it. I stopped using it a long time ago because it took forever to be updated to new releases of iLife/iPhoto. And I'm not one to upgrade too quickly to new versions of software, but I really like iLife so I quickly upgraded to '08. Now I'm getting ready to switch to Mail sometime after Leopard is released - mainly for better integration with applications and the HTML that I abhor but has become a necessary evil. I just looked it up, the software is "iPhoto Mailer Patcher". I had downloaded iPhoto Mailer Patcher ages ago which allows iPhoto preferences to select any email application. I had totally forgotten that I had installed it. Well, it doesn't work with the new version of iPhoto, unfortunately. And it is a pain to work around it. If anyone has any ideas or fixes, let me know. -Jaede >AFAIK, PowerMail has never been one of the iPhoto options without third >party software. Open the resource folder, and look for a Scripts folder. If that's there I'll bet all you have to do is add the PowerMail script and .TiF image that the patcher put there for you.
