---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: addresses not sticking in group From: "Anna Silliman" <a...@handsonenglish.com> Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2018 16:31:27 -0500 Greetings-- I use PM 6.2.1 on OSX 10.6.8 mostly without any glitches at all. Recently I have a (longstanding) group in my Address Book which keeps losing two of its members. When I drag those records back into the group, they appear there as expected, but once PM is closed and restarted, that group reverts to having two members missing. I am not doing any synching with Apple's Mail, which I never use except in emergencies. Any ideas? Thanks, Anna ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: addresses not sticking in group From: "Jim Pistrang" <j...@jpcr.com> Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2018 21:26:25 -0400 Hi Anna, Have you tried placing these two addresses in a new group. That might give you a clue as to where the problem lies. If a new group is successful, you might then try adding all of the addresses from the old group into the new one. If the new group fails, try deleting and re-inserting the two addresses. hth Jim >Greetings-- > I use PM 6.2.1 on OSX 10.6.8 mostly without any glitches at all. > >Recently I have a (longstanding) group in my Address Book which keeps >losing two of its members. >When I drag those records back into the group, they appear there as >expected, but once PM is closed and restarted, that group reverts to >having two members missing. > > I am not doing any synching with Apple's Mail, which I never use >except in emergencies. >Any ideas? > >Thanks, >Anna > > > -- Jim Pistrang JP Computer Resources 413-256-4569 <http://www.jpcr.com> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: addresses not sticking in group From: "Anna Silliman" <a...@handsonenglish.com> Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2018 11:46:07 -0500 Thanks, Jim, for the input. It's still a mystery. I started a test group, put the two 'slippery' contacts in it and two others for controls. When I quit PM and restart, my test group contains only the two controls, the slippery ones have disappeared again (from the group; they still exist in the database). I deleted both of those records, and typed them in again from scratch as new contacts. Repeated the exercise, and the two new records STILL don't stick in the group, though my controls are fine. I have been making other changes in the Address book and in my groups--new contacts, etc. but there are no problems with any of the other records or groups. They stick where they're supposed to. fact, I added a new contact (I used your address as a test) and put it into the test group. Sure enough, that one sticks just fine. Meanwhile I've been having lots of unexpected PM quits, so I did some maintainance (cleared out spam, emptied trash, restarted to run First Aid). After all this things are working okay as far as I can tell, but the Address Book problem, the two slippery contacts, remains. Should I try a low-level rebuild?? --Anna On 7/25/18, Jim Pistrang wrote: >Hi Anna, > >Have you tried placing these two addresses in a new group.
