Although our procedures do not address RP Tecnicians to be clean shaving, they are required to be able to meet the requirements for wearing a respirator (they need to be able to shave if needed). Our procedure states the following:
5.0 PREREQUISITES 5.1 Do not issue a respirator to personnel who have facial hair in the mask seal areas (Not applicable to Bubble hood, PAPR, or Delta Suits 6.2.8 Request the user to perform the following actions prior to leaving the issue location: * Inspect the respirator to be issued for tightness of connections and condition of the face piece, head strap, valves, connecting tube and filters. * Perform an operational (negative pressure) fit check on full face sealing type respirators for 10 seconds.
