Indeed, this does seem to be a Linux Reader problem.  It doesn't happen
on FC2 nor on (gack!) Windows, nor does it occur when the presentation
is not in full screen mode.

PPower4 works really well for me;  I find all the equation editors
painful, so for mathematically oriented presentations PPower4 is the
choice I make.
