Some comments for those old codes:
1. There is no need to go top when doing a SCAN, unless you
are trying to SCAN WHILE.
2. There is no need to sele tsheets before ENDSCAN as SCAN remembers
the table alias.
3. A IF FOUND() should follow SEEK/LOCATE

N.B Untested:
UPDATE stocks SET timesheets = (select sum(qty) from tsheets WHERE
stocks.stCode = tsheetsum.stCode)
* if there is only one timesheet per stcode you could omit the sum()
- which would avoid using a correlated subquery iirc

Firefox by default
