Hi Jürgen Thanks for that - in my case Tools~Options~File Locations showed *Default Directory as (Not Used)* but if I click on Modify I see Location of default directory as C:\Users\pauln\Documents\!Visual FoxPro Projects\ (greyed out) and the *Use default directory is unchecked*. So, if the default directory is (Not Used) why is VFP actually starting in that directory? Paul P.S. Here is Woody's response in ASCII, instead of Base64: Check the setting of "home directory" as well as the setting of the additional checkbox. You'll find those in tools / options.
