*The SCOM engineer role requires a deep technical knowledge of Operations
Manager as well as a broad background supporting Microsoft technologies.
This individual should have a history of successfully architecting,
deploying, configuring and supporting Operations Manager in technically
complex global environments. This individual’s core function will be
working with various application teams to develop custom monitoring for
business critical applications. This individual must demonstrate a strong
commitment to teamwork and mentoring as well as work well in
cross-functional teams as this will be critical to the success of this
position.  Core technical competencies:  *• Expert level knowledge of
Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM) 2012 R2 or 2016 –
deployment, administration, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance in
a global enterprise environment
• Experience developing custom management packs using third party tools
such as Visual Studio
• Experience tuning management packs and creating overrides
• Experience configuring dashboards using SquaredUp
• Experience deploying in Linux environments
• Experience deploying to network devices
• Experience with Application Performance Monitoring
• Experience with the automation of objects, via PowerShell, in the
Operations Manager Shell
• Creation of documentation (Standard Operating Procedures – SOP’s)


*  Additional skills:  *• MCSE certification desired
• 7+ years hands-on technical experience with Microsoft Enterprise-level
server and networking related technologies
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server
2008/2008R2/2012/2012R2
• Good working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, LDAP, Kerberos,
DNS, TCP/IP, WMI, SNMP
• Good working knowledge of PowerShell
• Working knowledge of MS SQL Server 2012 usage and administration in large
environments
• Experience with additional System Center Tools including Configuration
Manger (SCCM), Orchestrator (SCORCH) and Service Manager (SMA) a huge plus
• Competent management of competing priorities and workloads
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creation of
technical documentation
• Strong mentoring skills and technical cross training of team members
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
