More DNS problems... We were attributing the bouncing of our incoming mail to our recent DNS changes. However sometime during the night our domain went completely off line. Naturally we thought our ISP had assigned incorrect DNS and MX records. As it turns out, it was/is an entirely different problem and the timing is only a coincidence.
It seems that Covad had hijacked administrative control of our domain, and didn't bother renewing the domain registration because we did not have an account with them (we weren't their customer). Network Solutions (our domain registrar) told us they could not renew the registration because our domain was wholesaled through Covad, only Covad could renew it. Next, Arian who is at Covad's Denver call center (he refused to give me his last name or any kind of employee ID) told me would not renew or transfer administrative domain control back to us since we did not have an account with them.
Finally I went back to Network Solutions and they agreed Covad should not have had administrative control of our domain. They have expedited a transfer back to us and have temporarily re-instated the domain registration long enough for the transfer to take effect and we can renew our domain.
To make a long story even longer, our domain is back on-line but it will take 24 to 48 hours for it to propagate across the Internet. Since our entire domain was off-line, our mirrored server will not be of any use, so many of you will still not be able to post for some time.
All I can say is that we are sorry for the inconvenience, but we had no control of this and we resolved the problem as quickly as possible. I'd suggest that maybe you can take out your frustration by writing the CEO of Covad a blistering letter or email.

We are performing maintenance on our mail server which requires changes to the Internet DNS records. This type of change usually takes a day or two to propagate across the net to all the name servers. We are mirroring our mail server during this time to minimize impact on the forums. While the name changes propagate there may be times that mail to techservinc.com will bounce. If you experience this, try resending after an hour or two.
We have tried to schedule these changes for off peak times. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
