Hello,
does anyone know, if object file formats '.sch' (schematic), '.lib'
(schematic library, pcb library) and '.pcb' are compatible between P99SE
and
the older versions P98 and P3? Where and what are the differences?
Can I take (e. g.) a pcb file of P99SE, change it using P98 and work
with it
I usually draw the schematic part identical to the pcb footprint,
meaning including power.
Since I'm not using the autorouter this allows me to think about
the tracks while doing the schematic. Or when I have to swap
parts (quad op), they are easier to find. It also simplifies doing
measurements
I'm the exact opposite of this. I try to make each schematic part look like
its function, rather than its physical layout. That way, the schematic will
be a proper abstraction of the circuit, rather than a rough draft of the
PCB. IMO it makes the schematic easier to read and understand if it's
Free pads, by definition, do not appear on the schematic. I read
this post
from Mr. Beavis and was pretty shocked. I was about to start
railing at the
programmers who would allow Free-padname to be deleted as if it were a
component. But I tried it first. I could not get free pads to
