Is it possible in 99SE to have a round pad with a
10 mil gap through the center to create a jumper
that you solder when a connection is required?
I know that the Lomax Virtual Short is similar
but we want a single pad (or two halves of a pad)
instead of two separate pads.
Thanks,

I'm wondering if you ever tried adding solder paste over the two pads to be
shorted by default. I didn't do it either, but would be interested in any
experience with such a technique.

Thanks to you all for your help.

The first versions I made used Cu arcs and traces to form
2 half moons with a 6 mil gap. These worked ok until a
version change in protel and then editing the footprint
primitives to the correct net became easier if the shape
is all
? I can't think of another way.

At least you would eliminate the board shop's confusion of the larger pad
hole that is not-to-be drilled.
