My current problem is we have the old PCAD binary file, but no machine
running the old PCAD, and the old file would take a week to pull in to the
new PCAD and check . Since the board house lost the program for the flying
probe tester, I'd

Sounds more like a news server, which probably carries several
newsgroups related to Creative Labs products.
If you send me the file I have a PCAD file convertor, you may lose some hole
information but most everything comes across okay. What ever doesn't can be
fixed in Protel.

probably help if you can confirm
i built an IC component and i incorrectly numbered the ground pin
as 17 instead of the 7 it should have been. i used three of them
in the schematic and it was flagged when i went to update the
pcb. i changed the component library, updated the schematic,

I create a copy of the cam's to hardrive - which is part of the preferences
of CAM output. Namely in a dir called c:\camout\
But when generating files Protel places folders in this location called

I cant have spaces in the folder name.
Only schematic pages that are open when you hit Update Schematics will be
changed. I think it's always been like that. I also found that Update
parts in Cache only affected the open schematic pages, at least after I was
in this 'partially updated' state.
Sorry - Im wrong - I do use the MS Access Database configuration.
