Jim Hhhm, I did exactly that, made a complete library of our stocked parts then used the (horribly slow) database link feature to update our part numbers into the schematic. The link feature just uses an excel file (good for copy paste) and export it as dbase4. I believe Ian Wilson wrote a

As I understand it you want to have one library part for each part number in your system, and you want the part information in a field. One way to do this is to add component names to the component for every partnumber. So than the library item RESISTOR would also have names equal to all your

[PEDA] Simulating with load transfer function

2002-08-21 Thread Tim Hutcheson
I want to add the transfer function of my load to a simulation but can't find a Protel simulation part that lets me do what I want. I would expect to find a simulation part in the library that would let me use a table lookup or a functional form. Has anyone done this? Perhaps I need to create

Yea. I've pondered that one myself... I know an amazing math wiz in Hawaii that's pro-open source. Our Mid-west FAE wrote one in college for chip routing... Suggest it to him. Also, tell him he should release under the GPL license. The GPL would allow others to build upon his work, but they

Tim, what about controlled sources ? With the nonlinear ones (BISRC and BVSRC) you can use mathematical functions to describe their behaviour. Combining some of them might get you the right transfer functions. Yes, you can write your own models or subcircuits (maybe using nonlinear sources) for

Thanks for both posts Rolf. I'll have a look. I'm no Spice expert but if some examples are there I can piece it together. regards, Tim Hutcheson Research Associate Institute for Human and Machine Cognition University of West Florida 40 S. Alcaniz St. Pensacola, FL 32501 USA 805-202-4461

Tim, the articles about modelling mechanical devices were from www.intusoft.com, e.g. have a look at http://www.intusoft.com/articles/relaycd4.pdf. If you search google and take the links you do not even have to register at intusoft to view the documents. BTW, have also a look at the math.lib in

What issues prevent Find and Set Testpoints - from converting connector pads or vias to be testpoints if your Testpoit style and Testpoit usage are all ok. I have to manually go and set the pads for testpoints and they are through holes. The design rules clear ok but why doesnt it pick up on all
