You can add split areas to an existing plane (Design|Split Planes... and then assign the plane/net and place the outline tracks). You may be best re-assigning the existing plane's net beforehand, depending on the required geometry of the split. It usually helps to select the relevant nets, and

Glad you got it Brad, my first suggestion would be that you had successfully deleted the polygon outline. However the actual primitives filling the polygon remained (for some stupid Protel reason). Once the outline was deleted then you could not edit/select the primitives as a functional

The diode polarity was put in with the part silkscreen. It now appears that the part is not being rotated, but the text is being stacked, with the ref designator. The ref designator appears in the right position. As for being a Autocad issue, I cannot be 100% sure. I am exporting primitives, so I

I gave up on DXF export since everytime I've done it AutoCad has complained that it doesn't understand the file. Other programs with DXF import would understand it but not AutoCad. With P99SE there is a DWG export that seems to work great, or at least our CAD department has not complained about

The problem may not be just limited to protel ascii 2.8 limitations. There are a few homebrew options but some may seem more impractical than others 1) get a clip file of the allegro board write a clip file parser that handles the recursive LISP like structure of clip language..
