I think there may be a bit of confusion between Shift-Del (cut selection) and Ctrl-Del (clear selection). Both appear to 'delete' the selected objects from the workspace, however Shift-Del moves the selection to the Protel clipboard, whereas Ctrl-Del does actually delete the selection. Both of

I forgot to add that when using Shift-Del (cut) you're prompted for a cursor position to be used as a reference for when pasting elsewhere, and not for Ctrl-Del for obvious reasons. There is also an option in the Sch editor under Tools/Preferences on the Graphical Editing tab called Add Template
