I use XP Pro and don't have any 'read only' problem like that. It's
something goofy on your system, not Protel. Maybe during one of your
'mess' sessions, you got all your design folders into read only mode...

I'm no expert in the Protel Servers, but in Delphi.
Unless you want to commercialize your product, the Delphi7 personal
seems to suite. The next step, Delphi7 professional includes the
source of many libraries, plus allows you to commercialize your work.
The upgrades require a Delphi 6 of
P99SE required D5. Standard edition is OK for server development but
limited in some areas.
You *can't* use D6 for P99SE.
DXP, dunno possible D6.

I did go thru all of the PEDA and PDEV Archives that I have avaiable to me
here on this system (back to 9/12/01), and did note that several posts did
mention that D6 would not work for P99, but that also it appears that D6 is
