Subject: [PEDA] Importing Tango V2.xx Files

 Hi all,

Hopefully someone here has an answer for me.

I have had a PCB file handed to me that was apparently
produced using TangoPCB Plus V2.10. I can open it in Tango but
would like to import it into Protel to do some work on it.

I have both Binary and ASCII file formats. Protel imports
them both into a new DDB but it refuses to open the Binary
(Unknown File Type). The ASCII version opens but appears to be
empty - just a blank workspace.

Scanning the ASCII file with a text editor shows what seems
to be appropriate data along with a header as follows:

 ;Tango-PCB PLUS V2.10 Series II

 VERSION 1 3 A

 BOARD 3494 994 8206 7081 3494 994

 Any clues anybody?

 Thanks in advance,

Re: [PEDA] Importing Tango V2.xx Files

2001-12-18 Thread Tony Karavidas

You're welcome!

That's one point I've brought up here before. Why would Protel remove the
ability to import a version that it could once import? If there is ANYTHING
positive to say about code bloat would be to keep legacy functions around
indefinately. I'm sure they didn't need the 20kB of executable this wound
have added to P99SE. :)

 Thanks Tony,

 That did the trick!

Hardest part was tracking down where V2.8 was hiding.
