Reduce the double click speed - in Windows Control Panel. This sets the speed at which a right click is used by Protel to differentiate between killing the whole command and ending just that segment (in the case of placing tracks). You can test this - try a really quick right-click (flick the button gently) versus a long click. You will see different behavior. This timing is set by the double-click speed. Really obvious isn't it?
