Make a bundle of pads with varying sizes and solder mask tenting and
expansions and paste mask expansions. Do it in some order manner and you
ought to be able to figure out the secret code.
If you really wanted to make it easy make different PCB that only have one
pad and vary the various attributes of a pad and see what gives. Then post
your finding back here so we can all benefit from your hard work :-)
