Re: [PEDA] Auto Placing
Not really helpfull, I know : I was never able to have it working somewhat properly at all. Look at the autoplacer as 'experimental' gadget, and proceed manually to have the job done. I admit I lost the patience after a few hours of trying. I have done what help suggested, ie 1) reset the origin to the absolute origin 2) define my keepout layer 3) set my placement DR's Is there anything else I can do to get the components to be placed with correct clearances within the board boundary, or must I do it manually? * Tracking #: 05EE497E41980E4F9825D02F70279E88197A31A2 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post a message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * To leave this list visit: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/leave.html * * Contact the list manager: * mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * Forum Guidelines Rules: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/forumrules.html * * Browse or Search previous postings: * http://www.mail-archive.com/proteledaforum@techservinc.com * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Re: [PEDA] Auto Placing
Danny, If you want to do a quick and dirty see if it fits: Select all components Interactive place in RECTANGLE Then draw a rectangle All of the components will fall inside your drawn rectangle, you may have to experiment a little to get spacing Mike Reagan EDSI - Original Message - From: Danny Bishop [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'Protel EDA Forum' [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, July 03, 2002 8:52 PM Subject: [PEDA] Auto Placing HI All I have a very tight design, and want to see whether I can physically fit all my components on the board - this seems to be an appropriate use of the auto placer. Re: [PEDA] Auto Placing
thanks Mike I tried that, and it is a good help, but it places SMD pads on top of through hole pads (SMD on bottom side, and T on top side) cheers Danny -Original Message- From: Mike Reagan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, 4 July 2002 12:15 PM To: Protel EDA Forum Subject: Re: [PEDA] Auto Placing Danny, If you want to do a quick and dirty see if it fits: Select all components Interactive place in RECTANGLE Then draw a rectangle All of the components will fall inside your drawn rectangle, you may have to experiment a little to get spacing Mike Reagan EDSI - Original Message - From: Danny Bishop [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'Protel EDA Forum' [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, July 03, 2002 8:52 PM Subject: [PEDA] Auto Placing HI All I have a very tight design, and want to see whether I can physically fit all my components on the board - this seems to be an appropriate use of the auto placer.
