Here is a Christmas tip. We have alot of parts which we prefer VIAS not to be placed. ie in between smd pads on 1206 and discreete components. Placing Keepout fills will work however they also restrict traces So I now use layer 30 on my lib components as a keep out layer. I place little sqaures fills of layer 30 (tagged as a keep out) in my lib components. In pcb, I do not use layer 30 for routing. If you are using Spectra, Spectra obeys the keepouts. I just saved our designers time by not having to look for potential manufacturing problems with vias between pads and other critical components even connectors. It works
